VERBS: The words that show action in sentences are called action words or verbs. They tell what a noun or a pronoun did, does or will do. Eg – We should obey our elders. I play football in the evening. HELPING VERBS: Verbs which help the main verb show an action are called helping verbs. Some verb forms of be are is, am, are (for present tense) was, were (for past tense) Is, am, are are words which tell us what a person, animal or thing is. eg- Sneha is an intelligent girl. I am a national level swimmer. These boys are fond of cricket. Has, have, had are words which tell us what a person, animal or thing has. eg- He has a colourful clown costume. I have many toys. They had a laptop. Verbs can be one or more than one word. eg- Jaya is listening to a song. MAIN VERB is the soul of a sentence and has the main responsibility. eg- Jai is sleeping. VERBS: The words that show action in sentences are called action words or

verbs. They tell what a noun or a pronoun did, does or will do.

Eg – We should obey our elders.

I play football in the evening.

HELPING VERBS: Verbs which help the main verb show an action are called

BODMAS : It explains the order of operations to be peformed.

B stands for Bracket

O stands for ‘Of’

D stands for Division

M stands for Multiplication

A stands for Addition

S stands for Subtraction

In this class we will study about DMAS

Order of performing operation

First of all you will work out for division

then perform multiplication

after that addition and

at the end subtraction .

Understand the examples as shown below :

1) 3 + 5÷5 x 2

=3 + 1 x2

(As 5 ÷ 5 = 1)

= 3 + 2

(Multiply 1 x 2 = 2)

= 5

(Add 3 +2 = 5)

2) 6 x 3 + 12 ÷ 2 – 3 First divide

= 6 x 3 + 6 – 3 then multiply

=18 + 6 – 3 next add

=24 – 3 finally subtract

=21

operations.
