There was a famous group of lucky 13 who joined Dow batch of ‘79 after thesession started. Those included in the group had to do all the “tricks of thetrade” for the wild card entry. Wajahat was a staunch member of the famous 13.

He remained in the group of Mirza Ali Azhar, Gauhar and Habib. Wajahat alwayslooked like a very mature person physically and mentally. He was a low keyperson with a sharp thinking process, always helpful to his friends and foe alike.He loved to follow the path that was free of controversies and advises only whenrequested. Wajahat set his goals with clarity and precision. Once qualified, hejoined Teepu Sultan Sahib for training in anaesthesia. Teepu Sahib’s traineeshave always been very competent and self-motivated. Wajahat was noexception. He turned into a dynamic and vibrant anesthetist.

He acquired an MCPS in anesthesia and entered the ‘bazaar’. He joinedGovernment service. The day he recognized the lacunae of the system heresigned forthwith without any laments and regrets. He received dividendswithout any hassle.

He teamed up with senior surgeons and was rewarded in terms of experience andthe fiscal benefits. He worked in the hospitals adnexal to PMA house. His Pajerois parked throughout the day within the precincts and became his benchmark.Wajahat married Dr.Yasmeen, a gynecologist from the batch of ‘80 living apeaceful life with son and two daughters.

Wajahat is one of the busy and prosperous anesthetists today. Many changes canbe recognized in his persona. He has become a little leaner compared to earliertimes. He has done nothing to disguise the signs of aging. Despite a busyprofessional schedule, Wajahat always finds time to sit in the comfort zonewith friends. An adorable personality indeed!

Thank you Shoaib. Congratulations Wajahat. I remember the brief time we had together when you joined me and Jalal in anesthesia. You definitely have a 'bubba-factor'; a non-threatening, likeable, brother-like quality working for you which disarms other people. Mirza joined us too but left shortly afterwards. I read the details in his 'Mirza ki batein' account. Dr Mohsina joined soon after Mirza's departure, I would like to hear about her well being from someone. She was from my school.
