Read the story then answer the questions that follow: First School Day! “Do you remember your first day in a new school? Well, I remember my first day I was waiting all the summer to enter the school. I felt excited and at the same time I was nervous because I didn’t know any person, so I went early to school. Because I didn’t know how to arrive to my class room and I felt that I was lost I asked one student about the classes. This student was very helpful and told me the right direction. I walked to the classes and when I arrived I saw new students. I felt strange. When the class began all my classmates, were quiet nobody talked. The teacher was very punctual, so she attended the class on time. She stated the class and after that we introduced ourselves. I saw two new students smiling to me, they were Aisha and Alia. At the break they introduced themselves and I did the same. Day after day, we began to know more about each other. I am always going to remember that day, because I had the opportunity to meet the best friends I have ever had. I think it’s natural to feel nervous on the first day, but the things that always have a happy ending will stay in your memory. That’s why I say my first day was very good.

Our Food

We can classify food in a number of different

ways. The first way is by type. There are five

main types of food. First, there are fruits like apples, oranges,

melons and dates. Secondly, we have vegetables, including carrot,

peas, and tomatoes. Thirdly there is meat like chicken, beef and

lamp. Then there is fish. Fish includes things like salmon, humor, and

shark. Finally, we have a group of foods called dairy products. These

are things that come from cows or goats, like milk yoghurt, butter

and cheese.

We can also classify food by nutrients.

A nutrient is something the body needs to be

healthy. Once again, there are five nutrients.

Firstly, there are carbohydrates. Bread, pasta

and rice contain a lot of carbohydrates. Secondly, there is protein.

We can get protein from cheese, fish and meat. Thirdly, there are

fats. It means a nutrient in a food like cheese, fish, meat and milk.

There are two more groups: vitamins, in fruits and vegetable; and

minerals in fish, meat and milk.
