PAST SIMPLE (RESTO DE LOS VERBOS)Habla de una accin que ya ocurri y finaliz y est terminada

Por lo general se suele acompaar con frases o complementos que indican el pasado.

LAST WEEK/MONTH/YEAR= el ao pasado,la semana pasada,el mes pasado,etc

A YEAR/MONTH/WEEK AGO= hace un mes,una semana, un ao.etc

YESTERDAY=Ayer

LAST NIGHT=anoche

con fechas: in 1986,2010,etc

VERBOS REGULARES E IRREGULARES

Para formar el pasado simple hay que saber que hay verbos regulares e irregulares.

Para ello hay una lista a la cual remitirse.En la lista aparecen 3 COLUMNAS

La primera columna representa el infinitivo (verbo en forma base), la segunda el pasado simple y la tercera el presente perfecto.Si el verbo que estamos buscando no aparece en la lista significa que el verbo es regular y por tanto agrega -ed

LA PREGUNTA ES: COMO DISTINGUIR UN VERBO REGULAR DE UNO IRREGULAR? SI Aparece en la lista el verbo es IRREGULAR,caso contrario es REGULAR. SI EL VERBO ES IRREGULAR SE FORMA EL PASADO FIJNDOSE EN UNA LISTA ESPECIAL ,SI ES REGULAR SE LE AGREGA -ED.(A continuacin hay una tabla con la lista de verbos)

LA MAYORIA DE LOS VERBOS: se

agrega -ed

WALK WALKED WORK WORKED

VERBOS QUE TERMINAN EN -E: solo se agrega d LIVE LIVED USE USED

VERBOS QUE TERMINAN EN -Y: la y se reemplaza por -ied STUDY STUDIED CARRY CARRIED (excepciones a la regla play ya que quedan en PLAYED)

VERBOS QUE TERMINAN EN VOCAL+CONSONANTE: se duplica la consonante y agrega -edSTOP STOPPEDTRAVEL TRAVELLEDPREFER PREFERRED

La lista de verbos irregulares es extensa (al final hay una tabla con ms verbos y en el pasado simple y perfecto) Los verbos que tienen que aprenderse son los de la tabla que estn a continuacin,la otra tabla ms extensa se usar ms adelante cuando se trate el tema de PRESENTE PREFECTO, por ahora solo remitanse a la siguiente lista as no se confunden.La otra tabla la usarn mas FORMA BASE (INFINITIVO) PASADO SIMPLE

Did you run throught the park yesterday? Yes, I did / No,I didn't CON LOS VERBOS IRREGULARES PASA LO MISMO QUE CON LOS VERBOS REGULARES: EN ORACIONES NEGATIVAS Y PREGUNTAS VUELVEN A ESTAR SIN CONJUGAR (si en la oracin afirmativa tenemos el verbo saw que es el pasado de see,cuando hagamos una pregunta u oracion negativa pasar a ser see)ESTRUCTURA

Es similar a la del presente,solo cambia el auxiliar en vez de DO o DOES, se usa el DID para todas las personas ORACIONES AFIRMATIVAS

Examples: Mary walked 40 kilometres yesterday

Jess studied all day

I played basket two weeks ago with my best friend

Examples: Rosario didn't call Letizia yesterday

(Si ponen Rosario didn't called Letizia ESTA MAL) Alice didn't play football yesterday

Julian didn't fail the exam

YES/NO QUESTION (Preguntas donde se responden s o no)

Did you go to the party yesterday??

Respuestas posibles YES, I did

NO,I didn't Did Mary go to the party last week?

Respuestas posibles YES, she did

NO, she didn't INFORMATIVE QUESTIONS (preguntas donde se responde con informacion completa como el nombre,la direccin,etc)

examples: What did you do yesterday? Respuesta: I walked in the park

What was her favourite band? Respuesta: Backstreet Boys RECORDA: que si bien en las informative questions no va el verbo en pasado cuando se las est armando(porque est el auxiliar) cuando se responde a esta pregunta si va el verbo conjugado en pasado

RECUERDA:

-Did se usa para TODAS las personas

-Se usa solo en preguntas y en oraciones negativas

-Si usan Did,recuerden que el verbo ya sea regular o irregular

no va conjugado,sino que va en su forma normal

-Recuerden las reglas para agregar -ed

-Buscar las referencias de tiempo (last night,yesterday,etc)

que indican si es pasado o no

para evitar confusiones de tiempos
