1. Tablet MemoryYouneedtocheckyourtabletmemoryanddeletesomedata,suchasapplications,tomakemorememoryavailable.
To uninstall applications:1 Tap > >Appstab>Settings >Apps.2 Oncealloftheapplicationsappear,selecttheapplicationyouwanttouninstall.
3 TapUninstallandOKtoconfirm.
2. Before installing an open source application and operating system (OS)

Using a Screen LockSetanscreenlocktosecureyourtablet.Tap > >Appstab>Settings >Display>Lock screen>Select screen lockandselectadesiredscreenlockfromSwipe,Knock Code,Pattern,PINandPassword.YoucancreateaBackupPINasasafetymeasureincaseyouforgetyourscreenlock.Caution:CreateorsignintoaGoogleaccountbeforesettingascreenlockandremembertheBackupPINyoucreatedwhencreatingyourscreenlock.
WARNINGPrecautions to take when using a screen lock.Itisveryimportanttorememberthescreenlockyouset.Youwillnotbeabletoaccessyourtabletifyouuseanincorrectscreenlock5 times.Youhave5opportunitiestoenteryourunlockpattern,PINorpassword.Ifyouhaveusedall5opportunities,youcantryagainafter30 seconds.

When you can’t recall your Pattern, PIN or Password:< If you have forgotten your pattern >IfyouloggedintoyourGoogleaccountonthetabletbutfailedtoenterthecorrectpattern5times,taptheForgot pattern?buttonatthebottomofthescreen.YouarethenrequiredtologinwithyourGoogleAccountoryouhavetoentertheBackupPINwhichyouenteredwhencreatingyourPatternLock.IfyouhavenotcreatedaGoogleaccountonthetabletoryouforgottheBackupPIN,youhavetoperformahardreset.< If you have forgotten your PIN or Password >IfyouforgetyourPINorPassword,youwillneedtoperformahardreset.Caution:Ifyouperformahardreset,alluserapplicationsanduserdatawillbedeleted.

4. Using the Hard Reset (Factory Reset)Ifyourtabletdoesnotrestoretoitsoriginalcondition,useaHardReset(FactoryReset)toinitializeit.1 Turnthetabletoff.2 PressandholdtheVolume Down Key first,thenpressandholdthe
Power/Lock Key ontherightsideofthetabletuntiltheLGlogoisdisplayed.
3 ReleaseonlythePower/Lock Key whentheLGlogoisdisplayed.Thenimmediatelypressandholditagain.
4 ReleaseallkeyswhentheFactoryhardresetscreenisdisplayed.

5 PresseitheroftheVolume Keys tohighlightYes,thenpressthePower/Lock Key tocontinue.

Unmount SD card.2 OpenthemicroSDcardtrayandpushthecardintoreleaseit.3 GentlypullthemicroSDcardfromtheslot.
Warning!DonotremovethemicroSDcardwithoutunmountingitfirst.Otherwise,itmaydamagethemicroSDcardaswellasyourtablet,andthedatastoredonthemicroSDcardmaybecorrupted.

Formatting the microSD card
Warning!AllfilesstoredonyourmicroSDcardaredeletedwhenyouformatthecard.
1 FromtheHomescreen,tapApps >Settings >Storage.2 TapErase SD card(twice).3 Ifyousetanunlockpattern,enteritandtapErase everything.Thecardwillthenbeformattedandreadytouse.
NOTE:IfthereiscontentonyourmicroSDcard,thefolderstructuremaybedifferentafterformattingsinceallthefileswillhavebeendeleted.
Locking and unlocking the screenIfyoudonotusethetabletforawhile,thescreenwillbeautomaticallyturnedoffandlocked.Thishelpstopreventaccidentaltouchesandsavesbatterypower.Whenyouarenotusingtheyourtablet,pressthePower/Lock Key tolockyourtablet.Ifthereareanyprogramsrunningwhenyoulockyourscreen,theymaybestillrunninginLockmode.ItisrecommendedthatyouexitallprogramsbeforeenteringLockmodetoavoidunnecessarycharges(e.g.webaccess,datacommunications).Towakeupyourtablet,pressthePower/Lock Key .TheLockscreenwillappear.TouchandslidetheLockscreeninanydirectiontounlockyourHomescreen.Thelastscreenyouviewedwillopen.

Turning the screen on using the KnockON featureTheKnockONfeatureallowsyoutodouble-tapthescreentoeasilyturnthescreenonoroff.

•Quicklydouble-taptheStatusBar,anemptyareaontheHomescreen,ortheLockscreentoturnthescreenoff.
Unlocking your screen using the Knock Code featureTheKnockCodefeatureallowsyoutocreateyourownunlockcodeusingacombinationofknocks(ortaps)onthescreen.•Whilethescreenisoff,tapthesamesequenceyouestablishedanywhereonthescreen.TheHomescreenwillbeaccesseddirectly.
To activate Knock Code feature1 FromtheHomescreen,tapApps >Settings >Display>Lock
screen>Select screen lock>Knock Code.2 ThisopensascreenthatwillguideyouthroughhowtosetyourKnockCode.YouhavetocreateabackupPINasasafetymeasureincaseyouforgetyourKnockCode.

Touch and holdTouchandholdanitemonthescreenbytouchingitandnotliftingyourfingeruntilanactionoccurs.Forexample,toopenacontact'savailableoptions,touchandholdthecontactintheContactslistuntilthecontextmenuopens.
DragTouchandholdanitemforamomentandthen,withoutliftingyourfinger,moveyourfingeronthescreenuntilyoureachthetargetposition.YoucandragitemsontheHomescreentorepositionthem.

Swipe or slideToswipeorslide,quicklymoveyourfingeracrossthesurfaceofthescreen,withoutpausingwhenyoufirsttouchit(soyoudon’tdraganiteminstead).Forexample,youcanslidethescreenupordowntoscrollthroughalist,orbrowsethroughthedifferentHomescreencanvasesbyswipingfromlefttoright(andviceversa).
Double-tapDouble-taptozoomonawebpageoramap.Forexample,quicklydouble-tapasectionofawebpagetoadjustthatsectiontofitthewidthofthescreen.Youcanalsodouble-taptozoominandoutwhenviewingapictureandwhenusingMaps.Double-tapawordtohighlightit.Double-tapcanalsoactivatetheKnockONfeaturetoturnthetouchscreenonoroff.
Pinch-to-ZoomUseyourindexfingerandthumbinapinchingorspreadingmotiontozoominoroutwhenusingthebrowser,Maps,orwhenbrowsingpictures.
Rotate the screenFrommanyapplicationsandmenus,theorientationofthescreenadjuststothedevice'sphysicalorientation.
Home screenSimplyswipeyourfingertotheleftorrighttoviewthepanels.Youcancustomizeeachpanelwithapps,downloads,widgetsandwallpapers.TheQuickKeysareavailableatthebottompartoftheHomescreenandprovideeasy,one-touchaccesstothefunctionsyouusethemost.

What are the results of the research done already?Theresearchdonethusfarhasproducedconflictingresults,andmanystudieshavesufferedfromflawsintheirresearchmethods.AnimalexperimentsinvestigatingtheeffectsofRadioFrequency(RF)energyexposurescharacteristicofwirelessdeviceshaveyieldedconflictingresultsthatoftencannotberepeatedinotherlaboratories.Afewanimalstudies,however,havesuggestedthatlowlevelsofRFcouldacceleratethedevelopmentofcancerinlaboratoryanimals.However,manyofthestudiesthatshowedincreasedtumordevelopmentusedanimalsthathadbeengeneticallyengineeredortreatedwithcancer-causingchemicalssoastobepre-disposedtodevelopcancerintheabsenceofRFexposure.

OtherstudiesexposedtheanimalstoRFforupto22hoursperday.Theseconditionsarenotsimilartotheconditionsunderwhichpeopleusewirelessdevices,sowedonotknowwithcertaintywhattheresultsofsuchstudiesmeanforhumanhealth.ThreelargeepidemiologystudieshavebeenpublishedsinceDecember2000.Betweenthem,thestudiesinvestigatedanypossibleassociationbetweentheuseofwirelessdevicesandprimarybraincancer,glioma,meningioma,oracousticneuroma,tumorsofthebrainorsalivarygland,leukemia,orothercancers.NoneofthestudiesdemonstratedtheexistenceofanyharmfulhealtheffectsfromwirelessdeviceRFexposures.However,noneofthestudiescananswerquestionsaboutlong-termexposures,sincetheaverageperiodofdeviceuseinthesestudieswasaroundthreeyears.
5. What research is needed to decide whether RF exposure from tablets poses a health risk?
Acombinationoflaboratorystudiesandepidemiologicalstudiesofpeopleactuallyusingtabletswouldprovidesomeofthedatathatareneeded.Lifetimeanimalexposurestudiescouldbecompletedinafewyears.However,verylargenumbersofanimalswouldbeneededtoprovidereliableproofofacancerpromotingeffectifoneexists.Epidemiologicalstudiescanprovidedatathatisdirectlyapplicabletohumanpopulations,buttenormoreyearsfollow-upmaybeneededtoprovideanswersaboutsomehealtheffects,suchascancer.Thisisbecausetheintervalbetweenthetimeofexposuretoacancer-causingagentandthetimetumorsdevelop—iftheydo—maybemany,manyyears.TheinterpretationofepidemiologicalstudiesishamperedbydifficultiesinmeasuringactualRFexposureduringday-to-dayuseoftablets.Manyfactorsaffectthismeasurement,suchastheangleatwhichthetabletisheld,orwhichmodeloftabletisused.

3. WHAT LG WILL DO:LG will, at its sole option, either repair, replace or refund the purchase price of any unit that is covered under this limited warranty. LG may choose at its option to use functionally equivalent re-conditioned, refurbished or new units or parts or any units. In addition, LG will not re-install or back-up any data, applications or software that you have added to your phone. It is therefore recommended that you back-up any such data or information prior to sending the unit to LG to avoid the permanent loss of such information.
4. STATE LAW RIGHTS:No other express warranty is applicable to this product. 3. WHAT LG WILL DO:LG will, at its sole option, either repair, replace or refund the purchase price of any unit that is covered under this limited warranty. LG may choose at its option to use functionally equivalent re-conditioned, refurbished or new units or parts or any units. In addition, LG will not re-install or back-up any data, applications or software that you have added to your phone. It is therefore recommended that you back-up any such data or information prior to sending the unit to LG to avoid the permanent loss of such information.
