Correlative Conjunctions
Correlative conjunctions always come in pairs, and they appear in different parts of a sentence. Some correlative conjunctions are both…and, either…or, neither…nor, not only…but also.

Commas
Within a sentence, commas are often used to set off introductory words or phrases, including the words yes and no, separate words in a series, and divide two independent clauses joined by and, or, so, or but. A comma is also used to set off a tag question (a short question at the end of a sentence), as well as the name of the person being spoken to.
Yes, Nick, we can make sandwiches, brownies, and shakes, but we’ll need to shop
first, won’t we?

Subject-Verb Agreement
The subject and verb of a sentence must agree. A singular subject takes a singular verb. A plural subject takes a plural verb.

Frequently Confused Words

Correlative Conjunctions
