Lesson 9: Correcting Run-on Sentences

When two sentences run into each other, they make a run-on sentence.


Run-on sentences are a big NO!NO! in your writing.


Read this passage: Li’s family visited the Carnegie Science Center the center is located in Pittsburgh there are lots of things to see.


Fix It: Li’s family visited the Carnegie Science Center the center is located in Pittsburgh there are lots of things to see.


Read it Again: Li’s family visited the Carnegie Science Center. It is located in Pittsburgh. There are lots of things to see.



Directions: Tell whether the sentence is correct or if it is a run-on. Fix the run-on sentences.
