What is a Language Portfolio?TheEnglish for LifeLanguagePortfolioisadocumenttohelpyoulearnlanguagesmoreeffectively.Ithelpsyoutothinkabouthowyoulearn,andprovidesarecordtoshowotherpeopleyourlanguageabilitiesandprogress.

Ithasthreesections:

thePassporttheBiographytheDossier

The Passportisasummaryofyourlanguagelearningexperiences,includingtimespentabroad,coursesattended,certificatesgained,andbooksyou’veused.Thereisaself-assessmentgridforeachlanguageskillarea(gradedfromCEFlevelsA1–C2),tohelpyoudecideonyourcurrentlanguagelevel.

Youshowthissectiontootherpeoplewhenchangingschools,orapplyingforajob.

The Biography isasummaryofyourlanguagelearninghistory,includingthelanguagesyou’vegrownupwith,yourlanguagelearningexperiencesatschool,andhowyouuseyourlanguagesnow.Therearealsosuggestionsonhowtobecomeamoreeffectivelearner.ThissectionalsocontainsaCEFchecklistof ‘Cando’statements.
