PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Students are busy with December activities. The first term has flown by, and the students and staff are eagerly preparing for all of the events that accompany the holiday season. Currently, we are collecting non-perishable food items for Deltassist. It is important for us at the school to play a role in supporting local charities. As always, the challenge is for students to bring the same number of food items to match their age. Of course, if that isn’t possible, every little bit helps and we are accepting donations until December 12th . We appreciate your help in seeing that those in our community don’t go without over the holidays.
This is a list of most needed items:
Rice (plain and flavoured)
Pasta and Sauce (e.g. Knorr Sidekicks)
Dry pasta (especially spaghetti)
Pasta Sauce
Macaroni and Cheese
Cereal (including individual hot cereals)
Canned Salmon and Tuna
Canned ham
Canned Chili
Canned Meat (e.g. prem, spam, corned beef)
Canned Stew
Canned Pasta
Canned Fruit
Canned Hearty Soup
Canned Regular Soup
Canned Vegetables
Tea Bags
Coffee
Hot Chocolate
Peanut Butter
Jam
Jello (not instant pudding as it requires milk)
Juice (litre size preferred)
Baby Food (strained and Junior), Formula,
Cereal (expiry date 2020 or more)
The Christmas concert is scheduled for Thursday, December 12th. Staff and students are hard at work getting ready for the big night. This year, English Bluff is proud to be
presenting, ‘Twas The Week Before Christmas’. We are excited for families to delight in the talents of our students. Please remember to bring a non-perishable food item to the concert, as we will be collecting donations at that the door as well. We are sure to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the next few weeks as the holiday spirit grows. On behalf of myself, and the staff of English

Bluff, I would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
WINTER SPORT SAFETY TIPS
Don't let a mishap spoil your sporty winter fun
this year. Instead, take savvy precautions that
will ensure your safety on the slopes, ponds, and
snowy trails.
Whether you’re a skier or snowboarder, head
protection is a must.
Trail blaze with caution – respect boundaries.
Breathing in cold air can be dehydrating –
drink lots of water.
Damp clothes can lower body temperature, so
dress in layers you can easily take on and off.
Wear thermal underwear, a second insulating
layer, a fleece vest or jacket, water and
windproof pants, and an outer jacket, gloves
and hat.
Ice skating - Skates should give firm ankle
support and fit snugly.
Ice hockey - Hockey players should wear a
CSA-approved hockey helmet with a
compatible full face mask.
Downhill skiing - Beginners should take
lessons from a certified instructor.
Snowboarding - Snowboarding requires its
own set of skills.
