MEUEM professionals have long experience in the realization of mobilitystudies. We have developed different types of work in Spain andColombia. Among these projects, the next ones stand out:

Sustainable urban mobility plans.Generated mobility studies.Road capacity studies.Studies of demand for public transport.Studies of mobility by bicycle or pedestrian.Road safety plans.

The modeling of traffic and transportation is one of the most importanttools in the project development.

Mobility generatedMEUEM technicians count with long experience in the Generated Mobility evaluation studiesdrafting in the area of Catalonia meeting the guidelines of the 2003 Law of Mobility and its344/2006 decree of September 19 . These type of studies are applicable to any type of field.

Studies generally consists in determining thedemand generated in all transportation modesduring the implementation or expansion ofnew activities and the analysis of its impact onthe current mobility system. Given these facts,proposals to minimize the impact of the lesssustainable modes and to those which priorityis given to the most sustainable as pedestrians,bicycles and public transportation arenecessary.

TrafficOur experience in conducting traffic studies ranges from the analysis of intersections toimpact studies on a larger scale. The static and dynamic modeling of traffic allows us tovisually detect what are the advantages and disadvantages of the scenarios analyzed andproposed.

Our team has been responsible for thepreparation of planning studies and designof public transport networks, taking intoaccount the previous analysis of potentialdemand. Modelling the demand for publictransport is one of the most effective toolsin achieving the objectives.

In recent years MEUEM technicians have developed local road safety plans as a result ofcollaboration between local authorities and the Catalan Traffic Service. This experience hasbeen extrapolated to other areas outside Catalonia.This work main objective has been to reduce the accident rate from proposals to improvesafety, especially for pedestrians and bicycles.

In our team we have done several informationalsignage guidance projects and diversion works forboth municipalities and to private entities.

We have developed various studies Geomarketing based on advanced tools suchas geographic information systems.

We have also made emergency plans at themunicipal level and dangerousmerchandise transportation studies formunicipalities and businesses, taking as itsmain objective to minimize costs withoutcompromising the safety of persons andtheir property.

AimsunThis micro‐simulator is a tool capable of reproducing the actual conditions of traffic onany road network on a computer. Its use ranges from the evaluation of roadinfrastructure design, to predict the traffic state as part of the vehicle guidance system andother applications in real time.

TranscadTransCAD is a geographic information system (GIS) designed especially to store, view, manage and analyze transportation data.It has a complete solution for all types of transportation applications:

In MEUEM we use this program mainly forplanning studies. However, at this time it isalso a useful tool for the marketdevelopment or environmental risksstudies among others.

LENA is a program used in our work of road signs of direction. Homogenized design panelsaccording to current standards and thus allows drivers to anticipate their actions on the road,minimizing distractions. This will reduce the indecision and traffic caused by wrong directions,ultimately helping to combat road accidents.

AutoTURN is an engineering CAD software used to simulate the vehicle maneuvers in civilengineering and transportation projects. It is essential for an accurate and cost effectivedesign of intersections, roundabouts, bus terminals and loading and unloading areas.

We have an automatic vehicles count system thatallows us to obtain very reliable results in terms ofnumber, speed and type of vehicle.
