Qualities within an IB Learner Profile (Baccalauréat international) *The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. IB learners strive to be :
Profile of students who are: Observable manifestations :
Inquirers S/he is curious and asks questions; S/he consults a variety of sources for
research; S/he is autonomous in his/her
learning; S/he is capable of selecting pertinent
information; S/he takes pleasure in learning; S/he visits cultural places, linking
research modules; S/he uses the local library;
Knowledgeable S/he is interested in local and global news;
S/he reads and uses a variety of media for information (television, newspapers, online sources, etc…)
S/he possesses knowledge in many disciplines;
S/he is capable of sharing his/her knowledge with parents and friends;
S/he can explain his/her knowledge to younger children;
S/he uses his/her knowledge to solve problems and to find answers to questions;
S/he is capable of talking about his/her projects;
Thinkers S/he is capable of making reflective decisions;
S/he reflects on ethical dilemmas; S/he uses his/her creativity to problem
