CLEANER WATER FOR A CLEANER TOMORROW

Introducing

Overview

Salilia loves the riverShe notices a turtle that she wants to take

homeThe Ganges river is dirty. And she wants to

help save the turtle and clean the riverShe saves the turtle by keeping it in a filtered

tank she makes herself.

Filtering Water

This project is best designed for middle elementary grades. The students can be as creative as they need to be. This also relates to this age group of 7-10 because a majority of these students love animals and this creates a personal interest in the project.

From left to right the water was filtered with: coffee filter, cheesecloth, and sand.

Different Filters

This is the final filter we designed. We took the observations we made with the individual materials. We concluded the strongest filter would include all the materials.

The picture above shows the water after we have used the filters. We saw the final water was the clearest, with little to no large objects.

FINAL FILTER:We used the 3 materials present to create the strongest filter. The first layer was sand,

then the coffee filer, and last the cheesecloth. This was the cleanest water we have filtered.
