It’s very encouraging to realize that Enppi has delivered another year of good performance. Even though most 2009 headlines were dominated by the

continuing repercussions of 2008 global financial crisis, we managed to grow both our volume and net revenue. We started the year with the challenge

of completing running projects on time and delivering the excellent performance we pledge to our clients even when the economy indicators remained

repellent. In all aspects, this year was another demanding year and yet we ended 2009 with net profit at 110 % of 2008’s level.

On top of that, Enppi was ranked in the ENR Top International Design List Firms. This moves us closer to the realization of our vision. However, this is not

the end to it; I have faith that we could and should exert more effort on all levels and in every promising direction in order to reach a higher rank in 2010.

This year, we carried on with our strategy of strengthening our global presence while expanding our customer base. Over the course of 2009, we added to

our external offices and authorized our existence in Venezuela and Yemen with the inauguration of permanent offices to better monitor and study the business

environment and opportunities available. Furthermore, we accessed new clients in our pursuit of major EPC offshore projects. We continued to scrutinize

new industries such as power plant fields; we observed an opportunity and decided to seize it.

On the other hand, and as we developed and expanded in new markets, we continued to focus on the local market and our long-built relationships with our

loyal clients. This is a lesson learnt from 2008 global crisis; as we continue to navigate an uncertain global economy, we must remain uniquely positioned

locally and never undermine the local prospects that are presented before us. This approach helped us to endorse the company’s existence and professional

excellence.

All in all, we are starting 2010 and our 33rd year of activity with optimism and determination to move forward on many fronts to take advantage of solid

growth opportunities, improve our working efficiency and expand our global presence while sharpening our local business portfolio. We will remain alert

and flexible as we confront the challenges that lie ahead in 2010.

As always, I extend my appreciation and gratitude to His Excellency Eng. Sameh Fahmi, Minister of Petroleum, for his endless and invaluable support

to our company. I am also very grateful for our employees for their hard work, dedication, loyalty and the results that would not be as great without their

contributions.

Throughout the past 32 years and ever since its establishment in 1978, Enppi has made a remarkable progress as witnessed in the evolution of its role in projects execution from a mere specialized Engineering Design Contractor to an EPC Main Contractor executing major projects on lump-sum turnkey basis in Egypt and worldwide too.

In this respect, Enppi contributed in executing several critically strategic projects for the Egyptian Petroleum Sector, creating added value to support the national economy.

Throughout 2009, Enppi as an EPC Main Contractor, executed major local and international projects (on a lump-sum turnkey basis) in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals and Power industries, in the MENA region, GCC and South America.

Assuit/Aswan Gas Pipelines and Dahshour Compression StationEgyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) – Assuit/Aswan,Egypt

Project DescriptionThe project aims to extend the existing gas pipeline in order to feed Upper Egypt industrial and domestic users with natural gas from Assuit to Aswan, on two phases:- From Assuit to Gerga, 122 km length, 32”- From Gerga to Aswan, 390 km length, 30”The project also includes construction of Dahshour compression station including civil, mechanical and E&I works.In addition to:- Gas pipeline to feed KIMA factory east of Aswan, 21 km length, 24” - Gas Pipeline to feed west of Aswan, 11 km length, 8”

Scope of Work- Establishment of a communication system among all involved parties (Enppi - EGAS - Gasco - Petrojet)- Route selection for pipelines, Route survey- Detailed surveying- Basic & detailed engineering- Procurement services for Dahshour compression station and pipeline bulk material

Booster Compression Project (Phase V) Burullus Gas Co. – Idku, Egypt

Project DescriptionAdding 2 new gas booster compression units in addition to a waste heat recovery system and other facilities required to maintain the export gas supply pressure within the fields of Simian/Sienna, Sapphire and Scarab/Saffron at Idku – Egypt.

Scope of WorkEnppi leads the consortium of Enppi/PTJ for implementing: Detailed engineering, material supply, construction, commissioning & start-up assistance and project management.

Maximization of C2 & C3 – from Western Desert Gas FieldsEgyptian Natural Gas Co. (Gasco) – Amerya, Egypt

Project DescriptionGasco intends to maximize C2 and C3 recovery in WDGC (Western Desert Gas Complex) and Amerya LPG Plant. The recovered C2 and C3 in Amerya LPG plant will be transferred to WGDC through a 12” pipeline to be processed within WDGC where storage and loading facilities exist.The project will be executed in three phases:- Production of 600 MMSCFD- Production of 800 MMSCFD- Production of 900 MMSCFD

Scope of WorkEnppi was awarded the contract with Gasco to perform on turnkey basis the professional services of the project; namely basic and detailed engineering, procurement services, construction supervision, commissioning & start up and overall project management and control.

Rehabilitation ProjectGulf Of Suez Petroleum Co. (Gupco), – Gulf of Suez, Egypt

Project DescriptionRehabilitation of Gupco offshore/onshore facilities to access and determine the safety and integrity of these facilities.

Phase I:Perform detailed study, including the development of a cost estimate and schedule for the Rehabilitation work needed for all Gupco Offshore facilities in the Red Sea Area. The objective of the study is to guarantee safe operation for at least 25 years.

Phase II:Execution of the recommendations and findings of the study.

Scope of WorkPhase I (completed):- Facilities & operations study- Assessment report of the required rehabilitation work including cost estimate & schedule

Phase II: (completed):Engineering and procurement services for various “sub-projects” specified in Phase I.

Phase III: Ramadan-6 platform is under execution. All Gupco rehabilitation program is expected to be completed by March 2012.

North West October FieldDevelopment Arabian Oil Co. Ltd. (AOC) – Gulfof Suez, Egypt

Project DescriptionThe project aims to develop of a single six-slot platform with ESP, 8” multiphase pipeline, 6” water injection pipeline and onshore receiving facilities at Gulf of Suez with an expected production rate of 6,000 BOPD. The onshore receiving facilities will have a three-phase production separator, metering equipment and onshore control room. The separated fluids will be further treated onshore.

Scope of WorkFront End Engineering Design (FEED).

Tuna Field Development ProjectBelayim Petroleum Co. (Petrobel) – Mediterranean Sea, Egypt

Project DescriptionPetrobel intends to develop Tuna gas field at the Mediterranean Sea by installing a new platform (4-legged platform at approx. 82.5 m water depth) and connecting pipeline (24” subsea pipeline approx. 15 km from Tuna platform to existing Denise - SSIV). The production will be delivered to El Gamil plant through the new 32” pipeline.

Scope of Work- Basic design review- Detailed engineering for the 24” pipeline & TSF- Material supply for TSF- Overall management and leading the consortium which consists of Enppi, Tecnomare & Petrojet - Commissioning assistance- Offshore hook-up (Petrojet scope)- Procurement services for deck structure & jacket

Furfural Extraction Unit RevampAlexandria Petroleum Co. (APC) – Alexandria, Egypt

Project DescriptionThe project aims to replace the extraction solvent with N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP) in order to increase the raffinate product quality and unit feed rate and reduce solvent consumption.

Project DescriptionThe Project aims to produce 200,000 tons/year polystyrene, producing high impact and general purpose high quality grades (HIPS & GPPS). The polystyrene process facility will use the INEOS/Lummus technology.

Project DescriptionThe project aims to increase the production of El Gamil Plant located in Port Said, by adding some onshore facilities such as 2 LTS Trains, 4th flare, control room and a metering system. The project scope also includes the compression interconnecting, in addition to a metering station and a fourth flare.

Yanbu Gas Plant ExpansionSaudi Aramco - Saudi Arabia

Project Description The project aims at expanding Yanbu NGL plant and increasing the condensate production from 390,000 barrels/day to 585,000 barrels/day by adding 195,000 barrels/day NGL through the new Deethanizer unit. The project also includes refrigeration system, DCS and ESD systems.

Safaniya Water Disposal System Upgrade Saudi Aramco - Saudi Arabia

Project DescriptionNew facilities will be added to overcome the expected increase of water content from 17% to 35% in Safaniya crude oil by 2011, which will allow the increase of the maximum sustained rate and water wash from 383 to 805 MBOD. The new facilities include:- 3 LPPT phase separators – 1053 MBOD separation- 3 formation water draw-off pumps – 318 MBOD- Formation water treatment – rated by 847 MBOD- Additional 230 KV electric feeders- Others: substation / control system / utilities

Al-Khafji Field Development Plan Phase IAl Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) – Saudi Arabia / Kuwait

Project DescriptionThe Project aims to install two new flow stations, four power distribution platforms and seven subsea pipelines with different diameters, 110 km total length and laying sub-sea cables with total length of 34 km and modification of 8 existing platforms in the Arabian Gulf Area.

Project DescriptionThe project aims to increase the storage capacity of Hout crude onshore production facility. Storage capacity will be expanded through 4 new storage tanks with a capacity of 150,000 to 500,000 barrels, booster pumps, instrumentation, piping, fire fighting and a new electrical substation.

Project DescriptionThe project aims to execute a gas processing unit for the gas coming from offshore fields PATAO/ DRAGON, PLATFORMA DELTANA with anticipated capacity of 600 MMSCFD of lean gas, including separation and dehydration process using molecular sieve technology.

Ethane Recovery Project at San JoaquinPDVSA Gas – Venezuela

Project DescriptionThe project aims to establish an extraction plant with a capacity of 2200 MMSCFD. The two Deethanizer systems will be installed down stream the Deethanizer of train four and train A/B to recover the C2 and C3+ products. C02 content will be removed to avoid the C02 dehydration.

Scope of WorkBasic and detailed engineering for C02 extraction plant, detailed engineering for ethane extraction and overall Project management & coordination.

Fractionation Capacity Increase at Jose (ACFJ), Train VPDVSA Gas – Venezuela

Project DescriptionThe project aims to increase the NGL production of the current four fractionation trains from 200,000 to 400,000 bbl/d starting with 50,000 bbl/d at this phase, in order to cover the requirements of the 1st phase of NGL increasing production.

Scope of WorkConceptual, basic and detailed engineering for the design of train V NGL fractionation train, the refrigeration system, storage facilities, the utilities and services required for these new trains.

IV Train San Joaquin Jose 250 ProjectPDVSA Gas – Venezuela

Project DescriptionConstruction of a new NGL Extraction Plant (4th train) with a processing capacity of 1000 MMSCFD of natural gas in San Joaquin. In the first phase, the train will have the capacity to produce 52,500 BPD of C3+ liquids and meet the methane sales gas specification.

Process TechnologyIn view of the increasing volume of projects and in compliance with the company’s strategic objectives aiming at developing human resources to sustain its outstanding position as one of the major engineering companies, Enppi purchased a Simulation Program for Flare System Design. This is a breakthrough in the field of combustion engineering that will eventually support the company’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.

The Flare Net Program is the optimum in the design of Flare Pipe Network, defining pressure, velocity and heat generated in pipe network. The program is characterized by the simplicity and sophistication of its output, presenting accurate results for each segment of the network at different scenarios. The program is adapted to define the types and sizes of safety valves that should be utilized as well as the size of safety valve outer pipes. In this context, a group of Enppi Process engineers successfully applied

this program in several projects such as Gas Pre-Compression Project Phase V & VII for Burullus Gas Company.

Solids HandlingWith the onset of 2007 and in line with the government’s general trend, the “Solids Handling” Department was added to the Mechanical Engineering Division to carry out the technical assignments essential to the petrochemicals and minerals industries. The new department brings together distinguished and specialized calibers along with the latest technologies in adapting material handling and industrial processes. The first task of the new department was the Detailed Engineering works for the “Installation of Polystyrene Production Plant” in Alexandria for E-Styrenics. The scope included Solids Handling systems and equipment starting from handling of raw material through the different production phases, final products and packaging & storage processes.

The scope of the department covers:- Front End Engineering Design “FEED” - Detailed Engineering including the development of technical

specifications, bulk material and equipment purchasing documents, bids evaluation, and issuance of technical evaluation reports and purchase orders in addition to technical assistance in material inspection services at vendor’s workshop to ensure its conformity to project’s specifications.

This is in respect to the Handling Systems for the following equipment:- Mechanical Conveyors- Pneumatic Conveyors- Packing and Storage Equipment- Solid Material Industrial Process Equipment

In the Field of PetrochemicalsEnppi is currently performing the Detailed Engineering Design and Procurement Services for “Polystyrene Production Project” with a production capacity of 200,000 metric tons per year. The project is designed to produce 100,000 tons per year of General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS)

and 100,000 tons per year of High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS).

This project is a considerable step for Enppi to keep abreast of the latest technology in plastic polymers production using rubber as raw material in case of producing High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) , with the intention to use INEOS license of Bulk Polymerization Technology using Thermal Initiation method.

Through this project, Enppi will gain a new technological experience in this field of applications. By heating and condensation techniques upon using “Spiral Heat Exchangers”, “CSTR” Pre-Polymerization, Plug Reactor and “ De-Volatilization and Styrene Recovery System” with using hot oil system network.

Enppi scope of work covers the Detailed Engineering Design including safe storage facilities for imported styrene feed according to international technologies as well as the final Polystyrene Product Transferring Equipment, Bagging, Packaging and silos storing using Air conveys packages.The Polystyrene Production Project, being one of ECHEM Projects Master Plan aims to achieve a high value added to the Egyptian economy as the product is locally consumed and exported worldwide.

Research & Development

Enppi Research & Development Division endures to pursue the emulative potential of the company on the strength of developing the efficiency in project design and execution as well as the permanence in acquiring customers’ confidence.

In this context, “Invention & Innovations” Department was established, through which two agreements were concluded in the field of Research & Development with the French University and Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.These agreements are considered the initial framework for any future research agreement.

In the first half of 2008, an important research on “Design Rules of Cryogenic Tanks” was executed with the French University in Cairo, resulting in:- Enppi’s ownership of a comprehensive program for the design of Cryogenic Tanks, to be applied in future projects.

- The research was published and discussed during the EnergyConference, held at the French University in Cairo, in December 2008.

An integrated plan is currently underway for performing similar joint research projects during 2010 with several other educational research institutions such as the German University in Cairo “GUC” related to the usage of clean reusable energy (wind energy and solar energy).

Information Management DepartmentInformation Management Department continues to fulfill the aim from its establishment to avail the appropriate information to the appropriate people in the minimum possible time in order to enhance performance in diversity of engineering fields, a tool to assist in decision making and crisis management.

Accordingly, Documentum platform was founded to assist in achieving management objectives.

Documentum is considered the state of the art electronic document management system platform, applied in major international engineering and construction companies. The merits of this system are obvious in upgrading performance due to its optimal coordination and control capabilities in handling documents consistently with the company projects documentation. It also enables the company to better comply with procedures in implementing documentation starting from document registration, review, documentation, issuance, filing to its safe delivery to the addressee.

The initiation of the system coincides with the global trend of reducing documents/paper handling for environment protection and controlling global warming phenomenon.

Enppi AcademyIn pursuit of its mission, Enppi Academy continues to implement its policy of upgrading new graduates’ technical skills. Two groups of graduate engineers from all engineering disciplines attended the Academy’s professional training program and are now efficiently working in Enppi Engineering disciplines and Project Management Division.

Enppi Academy also provides its professional training services to new graduate engineers working in other Petroleum companies in Egypt and the Arab world.

In this respect, a series of On-Job Training sessions in the field of

Distributed Control Systems, Safe Automatic Shutdown Systems and Vibration Control Systems were conducted by Enppi Academy for 52 operations staff members of Enppi project “Expansion of Hout Crude Onshore production Facilities” for Al-Khafji Joint Opera-tions (KJO). The training was effected through the Advanced Con-trol System Simulator at the Academy Labs.

Enppi Academy is in terms of finalizing a joint cooperation agree-ment with representatives from several companies specialized in Automatic Control & Shutdown Systems to organize advanced spe-cialized programs with the intention of maximizing the benefits that could be achieved through the Academy’s existing capabilities.

In line with the local and global concern for Quality, Environment Protection and Occupational Health & Safety (QEHS), Enppi ensures strict implementation of QEHS requirements in all project phases, starting from the project design phase until equipment and materials are safely transported to different sites.

Enppi follows integrated management systems to monitor and evaluate the continual improvement of its performance in this respect, to achieve QEHS of Enppi and subcontractors’ personnel;- Enppi implemented Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 in 60 projects, and 25 audits were performed.- Enppi implemented Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001 in 60 projects, and 25 audits were performed.- Enppi implemented Health and Safety Management System according to OHSAS 18001 in 60 projects, and 25 audits were performed.

In 2009, Enppi achieved the highest HSE performance at Sites and Headquarters reflected by safe working HRS and Km travelled:- 19.5 million safe working HRS without any lost time injury at Sites and 4.3 million safe working HRS without any lost time injury at the Headquarters.

- 17.3 million safe Km travelled without any vehicle accident at Sites and 3.3 million safe Km travelled without any vehicleaccident related to Headquarters activities.
