Supporting Students, Strengthening the Future of Engineering
2019 Engineering ExcellenceAwards Banquet
By supporting the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation, you help cultivate the best and brightest of the next generation of engineers and land surveyors.
Every year, the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation seeks the best and brightest engineering and land surveying students in California and awards scholarships to them. Over the years, ACEC California has awarded over $650,000 in cash grants to hundreds of outstanding students.
Your donation to the Foundation is an important investment in the future of the engineering and land surveying professions. Helping today’s top students become tomorrow’s best engineers is crucial to our industry. As the cost of education continues to spiral upward, it is more important than ever that we lend a hand to those deserving young men and women. By donating to the Foundation, you will help attract and retain the most talented students to the professional engineering and land surveying professions.
With your support, students aspiring to be the next generation of engineers and land surveyors will continue on their path towards entering the workforce knowing that the industry is already actively supporting their success.
Rising Cost of Higher Education
According to the Public Policy Institute of California, the cost of attending a four-year university in California is at an all-time high. Both the University of California and the California State University systems doubled their average tuition and mandatory fees during the last ten years. In total, both institutions more than tripled tuition and fees since the 2000-2001 academic year.
The rising cost of higher education has made financial aid and scholarship opportunities that much more valuable to students – especially those who are seeking to enter a workforce that also requires a graduate degree.
Donations
The ACEC California Scholarship Awards are funded through generous donations from ACEC California Chapters, member firms, principals and employees. While these donations are deeply appreciated, the ACEC Scholarship Foundation is also endeavoring to expand its support network and is hoping to reach individuals and organizations interested in supporting engineering and land surveying students.
Donations to the Scholarship Foundation, a public non-profit benefit corporation, are tax deductible. Every dollar goes directly to
the student – no money is used for overhead or administrative costs. The ACEC California Scholarship Foundation is administered through the generous volunteer work of ACEC California Chapter members. Names of individuals and firms who donate to the Scholarship Foundation will be recognized in ACEC California’s monthly newsletter.
All proceeds benefit the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation.
