Which Width (size) should I use?
Which Guide Type and Style should I use?
Solid Edge Interrupted EdgeBearing - Condensed Steel - Hard
1. Stock ThicknessThicker stock requires larger bearings. For recommended maximums, see the chart at right.
2. FootprintWhere space is available, use the largest Stock Guide feasible. This increases the durability and life of the Stock Guide.
The Type and Style are determined by the edge of the stock, Solid or Interrupted:
Solid EdgeWith a solid edge, any type and style can be used. Note: The most economical style for a solid edge condition is the Bearing-Open option. Interrupted EdgeWith an interrupted edge, either Bearing or Hard Steel types can be used. If using the Bearing type, you will need to use the condensed style to maintain guidance of the stock with a minimum contact of one bearing.

Application Tips
Push on the Studs to “drive” a Lifter Rail down ...
Adjusting the Step Height ...The “height” of the step can be reduced to any desired dimension. This is accomplished by machining a step in the detail it is mounted on. Also, lowering the Stock Guide fa-cilitates the use of a flanged carrier. See picture below.
When driving down a Lifter Rail using an upper pad, we recommend that you push on the top of the studs. This provides a solid pushing condition rather than if you pushed on the top cap, which could flex.
