A number of projects in urban, rural andindustrial water supply, sewerage,wastewater treatment and disposal havebeen implemented by the company. Inthe water supply sector consultancyservices have been provided in thediverse aspects of source development,abstraction, treatment, storage,conveyance and distribution, researchand development of plumbing andfiltration standards. -Environmental Management-For the past fifteen years ECL has been engaged in projects suchas solid and hazardous waste management, conservation ofnatural resources, environment protection, coastal zonemanagement. Services provided include impact on naturalenvironment, flora and fauna surveys, water quality and effluentanalysis, noise and air pollution studies, strengthening ofenvironmental institutions at national and sub national levels,planning and policy formulation, assistance to implementlicensing schemes. Projects have been carried out in Sri Lanka,Bangladesh, Republic of Maldives and Korea

-Irrigation & Drainage –This has been a core area of expertise of the company. Inaddition to Sri Lanka areas of operation cover Indonesia andBangladesh. Projects have been planned, designed andimplemented to improve minor, medium and major irrigationworks and water management facilities, to mitigate floodingin large and mid-sized urban areas. In addition the companyhas prepared regional water resources inventories, riverbasin profiles, guidelines for the improvement of farmerorganizations and irrigation institutions, carried outhydrological assessments, O & M studies and trained catalyststo improve performance of irrigation systems.
