Ancient Engineers Who Knew God

Yossef Mehandes(Born 48 BC)

As a child, he wanted to know how things worked.

His father was a road builder, who died when Yossef was 5 years old.

His Brother was a warrior, who protected him when he was young.

His mother was a believer in the One True God. She died when he was 16. Yossef wondered where the One True God was when it happened.

His sister was a medicine woman, who always tried to encourage him.


He soon joined the military and served on a ship. The One True God was a distant memory, until death was near when a wave nearly swept him overboard.

His grandfather operated a coal mine where Yossef worked when he was young. One of his first invention was a machine to dig coal.


After he completed his training, he worked on inventions, including water systems, ship equipment and war machines.

Yossef learned of other inventions and then heard of a school that taught engineering, and he was determined to go there.


They were married and lived happily ever after, or until war came and Yossef had to leave home and help make preparations for an invasion. Work was stressful, 16 hours 7 days a week for months, preparing for war.

He then met a wonderful women that also believed in the One True God. She loved his inventions, which to him were like his kids. They began seeking more knowledge of the One True God.


Then it happened, the stress was too much, and he collapsed. Knowing that death was at the door, he once again call on the name of the One True God.

Born 48 BC means born 48 years before I met Christ. I am Yossef Mehandes (Hebrew for Joe Engineer) and I met Jesus that day and my life has never been the samesince.

I did join the navy and served on a ship. I did see a lot of inventions in use. I did want to know how things worked.

My father did die when I was 5, he was 48.

My mother did die when I was 16, she was 48.

I almost died at 48. (BP 240/120 – Hypertension)
