Dam & HEPP Engineering

Dams and related facilities have a critical role in providing benefits such as potable and irrigation water supply, hydro-electricity, flood control.

Barsu provides all the services required to design a new dam / hydroelectric power plant or to rehabilitate an existing dam. These services are outlined in planning and feasibility studies, field research, modeling studies and project and consultancy stages starting from preliminary design and resulting in detailed design.

Barsu’s dam and hydraulic engineers optimize the use of the storage with taking into account water demand, social and environmental concerns along with topography, geology and hydrology in the vicinty of dams and HEPPs.

Irrigation and Drainage

Yamula Irrigation, Central Anatolian Region110,000 ha of agricultural area will be irrigated. It is one of the largest irrigation project in Turkey. Project contains the design of 15 km of transmission channel, 62 km main of channel and 3,200 km of pressurized pipe network.1 pump station and 1 main filter station with motorized self-cleaning filter are also included in the project.

İvriz Irrigation, KonyaThe project is located in Konya Province closed basin. 40,000 ha of irrigation network wil be modernizated and rehabilitated.Assessment of climate change with regard to both ground and underground water resources, 200+ km of main transmission line was updated in the project.

Menzelet Irrigation 2nd and 3rd Stages, Kahramanmaraş The project area is located in the Middle Ceyhan Basin.56,000 ha; Planning studies and final design.Water transfer between basins and 47 km of transmission channel for flood prevention.

Çetintepe DamÇetintepe Dam and its facilities are on Göksu Stream. Çetintepe Dam, is one of the dams with the largest fill in Turkey: 11,320,000 m³With the project, the drinking water demand of Gaziantep province will be supplied and 70,000 ha of agricultural land will be irrigated.

Flood control, protection and management

Flood management plans is prepared for the community that include precautions to be taken before, during and after a flood event.

We offer innovative solutions, including stream and flood bed reclamation and erosion control, to control various drainage and flood problems.
