Engen & Engen

This collection is inspired by the sea. The smell, the light, the colours - the

feeling of being close to nature. We have chosen the beautiful muted

colours around the sea for our linen and cotton textiles. The Flora has inspired

us, just like Karl Blossfeldt, when he was shooting the amazing botanic motives

that we now use for our frames.

This is our attempt to bring a feeling of easy natural living into our homes.

With our wishes that you will enjoy the season even more.

Karl Blossfeldt

Karl Blossfeldt was a German photographer whom many admired for his unique close-up images of plants

and flora. Through the lens of his homemade camera, he explored nature’s

textures and forms, and became a pioneer of a new artistic approach to

photography. We celebrate the work of Karl Blossfeldt

by using three of his most beautiful motives for our frame collection.

Linen

Did you know that linen is one of the oldest fabrics in the world? People have been using linen for thousands of years all over the world, and the Egyptians called it “woven moonlight ” because of

its sophisticated appearance. Linen has a smooth, cool texture. It is very strong yet breathable, and above

all , it is natural . We love the combination of linen and cotton in our textiles. Linen gives the

textiles a crisp feeling, while the cotton reduces the tendency to wrinkle.

We think that is just a perfect match !
