President Gordon Lion looking back Well done. My congratulations to Kevin Reimer who has become

BCPVPA President-elect. Kevin’s year ahead as President-elect is an important time as he prepares to take over as President on July 1, 2016. My thanks are also extended to the four other candidates — Susan Clough, David DeRosa, Bryan Johnson and Brian Leonard — and to the members who voted in the election. The number of voters increased with every ballot and by the close of the third ballot a record number of members (968) had cast their votes. The final chapter of this year’s election takes place next week when members elect four Directors to two-year terms. This year nine candidates have put their names forward. You can read the initial statements

at http://bit.ly/BCPVPAElection2015 All members should receive an email with a link to their secure, unique ballot by Tuesday morning, June 23. Voting ends at 5 pm on Thursday, June 25. If you do not receive a ballot, email [email protected]

As this school year draws to a close, I want to thank all BCPVPA members for their involvement and kindness during my first year as President. It has been an honour to work on your behalf. I look forward to year two.

As the rhythm of the school shifts into that late June beat, I hope you take some time to look back and reflect on your contributions, and the contributions of the many people and organizations, that make our public schools such remarkable places. I hope that you have had time to celebrate the successes of your staff, your students, and your entire school community.

Have a great weekend, Gordon
