Mitas was founded in 1955, as a government owned manufacturing company specializing in manufacturing of galvanized lattice type steel energy transmission and distribution towers.The company had supplied towers for 380Kv and 154Kv transmission lines all through Turkey thus became the major domestic energy transmission line contractor.

Following privatization in 1989, as a result of constant investment into its human resources, production lines and capacity, manufacturing technologies, equipment and quality, Mitas has grown into a global supplier.

Momentum continued throughout 2000s by addition of hot dip galvanized steel construction plant in the city of Izmir and galvanizing plant in Istanbul. Izmir plant has annual steel fabrication capacity of 55,000 tons and galvanizing capacity of 70,000 tons, Istanbul plant with galvanizing capacity of 70,000 tons.

Today, Mitas is a key global player in its industry employing 1,500 personnel and exporting products and services to more than 125 countries in 5 continents.

Mitas group of companies consists of nine (9) independently operated companies, specializing in design, production and galvanization of steel structures and accessories. Headquarters is located in Ankara Turkiye. Company has domestic and international (U.S.A., Iraq, Libya, Algeria) branch offices.

Mitas Energy and Metal Construction Inc. is the leading company in production of lattice type steel towers and structures for energy and telecommunication. Mitas energy consists of driven team of engineers, project managers, sales people and supporting stuff. It has 3 business units. Namely, OHTL Towers, Substation Structures and Telecom Systems.

Micha Inc. established in 2007 as a joint venture with Fayat Group. Produces and galvanizes steel towers. It has an annual steel processing capacity of 55,000 tons and galvanizing capacity of 70,000 tons. Micha exports %90 of its production.

Miteng Inc. is an engineering company. Specializes in design and detailing of overhead energy transmission line towers and poles, substation and welded steel structures. Miteng also organizes and manages load tests and programs. Performed etailed design work includes sag-tension and load calculation, design and foundation calculation, tower work shop and erection drawings. Miteng offers consulting services on all these areas. Company utilizes industry wide known software packages.

Valmont-Mitas Poles, Inc. designs and produces all types of steel poles and masts for energy transmission and distribution, lighting, GSM telecommunication, cable-car, railway, wind energy, highway traffic signalization and advertisement industries. It has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons and can meet differing requirements such as 50 m and over poles, according to customer needs.

Mitas Galvanizing, Inc. is a galvanizing plant for steel towers, poles, structures and fasteners. It owns 4 galvanizing facilities in the same plant. One being the largest fully automated galvanizing plant in Turkiye. Galvanizing capacity is 150,000 tons/year. Being members of Galvanizers Associations and American Galvanizers Association, up to date technologies gets implemented.

Mitas Bolt, Inc. produces fastener components such as bolts, anchor bolts, studs, full-threaded rods, nuts and washers for energy transmission and distribution lines as well as machinery, construction, steel construction, refinery and petrochemical plants. Along with its philosophy of just in time production, Mitas Bolt has invested in an extensive testing laboratory. Mitas Bolt pays attention to customer satisfaction through producing fasteners with the desired quality.

Mitas Steel Structures, Inc. manufactures welded industrial and commercial steel structures. Its skilled welders are certified to EN 287. In order to assure welding quality, %100 inspection performed through non-destructive testing methods.

Mitem, Inc. is a construction company. Provides tower foundation, erection and stringing services. Mitem has the know-how , highly skilled work force and extensive machinery to perform the assigned jobs, contracts.

Over 26,000 telecom towers has been manufactured to date.

Mitas Telecom can create unique designs and fabricate variety of telecom towers as per customer specifications, requirements. Designs includes but not limited to 4 leg angular lattice, 3 leg tubular, monopole towers, rooftop poles, guyed masts.

Mitas Telecom has its own design team. American standard TIA-EIA-222-G employed. Designs optimized. Our designs got approval of civil engineering departments, universities and various other organizations.

Substation Structures unit designs and manufactures bolted and welded type galvanized steel structures for substations. Product range includes gantry and support structures, platforms, steel buildings, railway catenaries, solar panel and wind turbine supports and accessories up to 750 kV.

In addition to manufacturing, we can design and detail complete structures in according with ANSI/ASCE 10-97 as per customer needs. We can also prepare workshop drawings based on customer owned designs.

Mitas fabricates steel profiles, plates and sheets in its state of the art lattice tower production facility in Ankara and İzmir which are equipped with CNC machines. Annual production capacity is 180,000 tons.

Production data automatically transferred via computerized systems linking design, planning and production. This enables tighter control and eliminates errors.

Mitas owns and operates the largest fully automated galvanizing facilities in Turkiye. Mitas follows and implements the recent improvements and technologies in the sector. We are members of American Galvanizers Association (AGA) and Galvanizers Association (U.K.).

Mitas galvanizing plant has ISO9001, ISO16949 and ISO14001 certificates. Mitas is the first galvanizing company in Turkey to provide hot-dip galvanizing for the engine chassis and under-body housings at the same time with the European companies in the automotive sector.

Mitas operates five (5) hot dip-galvanizing facilities named according to the length of the zinc baths. That is Galva 4.5, Galva 7.5, Galva 12.5 and Galva 14, and has one (1) centrifugal galvanizing facility for small parts, namely Galva 0. Combined annual capacity is 250,000 tons.

Mitas offers unique combination of high capacity, technology, and quality, along with product range and labor power through its galvanizing services that meets and exceeds customer expectations.

MITAS Energy has successfully constructed %40 of the complete Turkish High Voltage Grid in Turkiye, more than 1,000 km OHTL for 132 kV and 400 kV in Iraq and share all its experiences with MITEM Inc after deciding to set up an independent construction company. MITEM Inc was established in 2008 in order to follow up construction business of MITAS Inc.

MITEM Inc. activities within energy sector includes

- Construction of Overhead Transmission Lines - Rehabilitation Overhead Transmission Lines - Turnkey services

MITEM Inc have the capacity to undertaking 5 different projects at the same time with 500 personnel using its own machinery park and equipments.

MITEM focused on Turn Key and Construction work of overhead transmission lines in 3 main countries, Turkiye, Libya and Iraq. MITEM continues to construct 750 km OHTL for 400 kV in Libya, 270 km OHTL for 132 kV in Iraq and 44 km OHTL in Turkiye for 154 kV and 34,5 kV. MITEM Inc plans to start remaining OHTL turn key projects in 2011 in Libya.
