At the beginning of the problems that confronting the
world comes from secure energy supply. Nowadays,
the format of the countries producing and using
energy is not sustainable.
The most obvious evidence is human-induced climate
change. Increased energy consumption in the world,
about 80 percent of energy is fossil. Dependency on
fossil fuels as well as burden to economy, causes
adverse climatic changes.

Turkey's electricity demand; development objectives,
depending on the growing population and rising
affluence annually until 2019 will increase at a rate of
about 7 percent.
However, conventional sources can be used for power
generation are limited. Foreign dependence on oil and
natural gas, are putting pressure on the national
economy.
However, in Turkey, in terms of diversity of renewable
energy sources has a favorable geographical position.
Major sources of renewable energy, hydropower,
biomass, wind, biogas, geothermal and solar energy is
available.www.enerjifederasyonu.org.tr

ENERGY POLICY

Turkey's official energy strategy until 2023 to reduce
the country's dependence on foreign sources, even
down to zero as possible, so as to benefit maximally
from internal sources is based on a targeted approach.
According to the 2010-2014 Strategic Plan of the
Ministry in 2023, the target is to provide 30 percent
of electricity production from renewable energy
sources and the point of energy supply is the
necessity of increasing the share of renewable energy
.

Published by WWF "Energy Report: 100% Renewable
Energy 2050", the report of the entire global energy
supply by 2050 can be met from renewable energy is
revealed.
Technical, legal, social and economic transformation of
the global will be held within the next 40 years with
the increasing energy needs could be met from
renewable energy of the whole. ABOUT THIS MEANS
TURKEY IS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LUCKIEST
COUNTRIES.

For this, not only of governments, the private sector,
civil society organizations and even individuals need to
take are very important roles.
In order to support the sector in achieving the desired goal;

Turkey is a country that lucky in terms of renewable energy
sources. Especially solar energy potential is very high.
ENERJİ FEDERASYONU;
• Evaluate renewable energy sources,
• By meeting from domestic sources of energy, to reduce
its dependence on oil and natural gas,
• By ensuring power producers to generate additional
revenue and raise the standard of living whom lives in
rural areas,
• To protect the environment.
