Vaccine-derivedpolioonlyoccursinareaswithoveralllowimmunizationrates.
Itisahighprioritytocontinuetoreacheverychildwithvaccinesandbuildandmaintainhighlevelsofimmunityandstrongdiseasesurveillancesystems.Ifapopulationisfullyimmunizedagainstpolio,itwillbeprotectedagainstthespreadofbothwildpoliovirusandVDPVs.
