Welcome back to Term 2. Once again we have a busy term that will unfold before us. Our character fo- cus for the first three weeks of term is that of being secure. We are people that are often consumed by the need to feel secure. We want to have a secure financial future. We want our children to be secure in school and their car seat and on their bikes. We have security protection very much evident at airports and many public events. We see metal detectors and footpath protection bollards being installed in public places. For all our efforts at being safe and secure the reality is one can never be one hun- dred percent secure in a world that is far from perfect. Yet in many of the Psalms we see hope for being secure. It does not say we will be free from turmoil. Quite the opposite. The earth still gives way. The mountains fall into the sea. The waters rage and roar like a tsunami. Kingdoms fall. Nations go to war. Bad things still happen. Our security is not in a world in which bad things never happen. Our security is in a God who is our fortress and no matter what happens to us, He is the Rock on which we stand. We al- so know that even should this world pass away, there is a city that will not be moved. There is a river that does not rage. The City of God is that place. It is His dwelling place and all who trust in Him have the security of a home there because He has promised it to be so. Steven Nicholas. PLEASE PRAY This week for these fami- lies: Jones, Kelly, Lacey, Lamers, and Mc Grath families. SCHOOL UNIFORM During the first two weeks of Term Two stu- dents can choose to wear either their Sum- mer or Winter uniform as directed by the weather. Please remember that on cold days students are allowed to wear their Sports jacket over the top of their jumper. The Sports jacket is not to be worn in the place of the School jumper. Please make sure that all students wear the correct school uniform to school every day. If for some reason a student is unable to wear the correct uniform, a note needs to be sent to school explaining what the problem is. If no note is supplied then a detention will be given. WELCOME TO David in Year 7 and Hattie in Year 2. We are thrilled to have the Mutisya family join the Olivet community. MOTHERSDAY STALL We will once again have a MothersDay Stall here at school on Friday May 11th as a fundraiser for our studentsprograms. Donations of any suitable stock will be gratefully accepted and can be left with Mrs Revell in the office. Thank you. ANAPHYLAXIS Please be aware that we have a student at the college who has an anaphylactic reaction to both fish and peanuts. Please remind your children not to share food and to wash hands after eating. We would ask you to refrain from sending food to school that contains fish or peanuts. Thank you for your help in this area. SECONDARY SPORT It is time to get those legs in to shape with the Tarrengower hike challenge. We will depart from school a little earlier to make the trip to Tarren-gower for our hill climb, and be back around 3.00pm. You will need supportive runners, a drink bottle/back pack and a hat if it continues to warm up. YEAR 3-4 EXCURSION NEXT WEEK On Wednesday, 2nd May, Year 3/4 students will be attending a SAFE (Safety Awareness Field Education) Program in Newstead. Here students will learn a variety of different safety lessons as they rotate through 5 different 30 minute ses-sions. Students will leave by bus at 9:15 and will return to school by 3pm. They will also be re-quired to wear their sports uniform for the day. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

God bless,

Alisha Mitchell

COLES SPORTS FOR SCHOOLS Be sure to collect as many as you can from your family and friends. It is not too late to send any vouchers you may have collected back to the College office. We have almost collected 5000 vouchers!
