While greeting people after worship, I noticed a slightly familiar face, but I wasnt prepared for what I was about to hear. She was about my age and I thought perhaps I went to school with her.

Hi, Pastor. You probably dont remember me. Ive only visited here five or six times. We are on our way to Florida to visit our daughter. Each year we come through we try to worship at your church.

I gave her my 150 watt smile. I said welcome. However, before I could say another word she stated I finally realized what I dont like about your church.I tried to prepare for the criticism that was coming. But what she said was a complete shock.

What I dont like is(pause) I dont like it to be over. The astonishment and relief on my face must have been too obvious. She just started laughing and smiling. Obviously God blesses her at Eastmont.

No church is perfect but God has given us something special here. Thanks for making our worship glorifying to God and inspiring to others. By the way, our Youth Praise Team was simply amazing last Sunday. God really spoke (sang) through them. The music was strong, uplifting and worshipful. I sensed Gods presence and others have agreed.

We need a new roof on our Childrens Building. Cost is about $120 K (ouch!) We knew this was coming and have been saving for it each month. Gods provision, your generosity, and wise deacon leadership means funds are available. We do the possible, God does the impossible.

When you follow Christ you will give up a lot. But if you stay where you are, you will miss so much more. Our study through I Am A Church Member will change us all. Stay focused. Pray intensely. Be receptive to Gods voice. The cost of following Jesus is great. The cost of not following is even greater.

Being a disciple is about time: Time with God Time with Gods people. Time in ministry to others.
