2.4 CONSTRUCTION A. Shutter frames are mitred with a Hoffman joint construction. Hoffman joint to be secured in mortise with exterior grade glue. B. Hoffman joints shall be exposed on the back and sanded flush. C. Operable Shutters: 1. Spiral grooved and glued dowels fasten rails and stiles. 2. Attach blades to operating tilt bar with epoxy-coated galvanized staples. Staple into tilt bar and louver 3. Blade Size: Plantation 2-½ inch, 3-½ inch, 4-½ inch. 4. Louver nylon tension pins shall be drilled into lower blade to allow functioning of louver blade. 5. All Shutters panels have tension screws for adjustment.

2.5 STRUCTURAL DIMENSIONS

A. The dimensions of the shutter components (see components pages). B. The dimensions of the rail widths shall be: 1. Top Rail: 1 inch x 4 - 6 inch. 2. Mid Rail: 2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch. 3. Bottom Rail: 1 inch, 4 - 6 inch. 4. Stiles: 1 1/8 inch x 2 inch. 5. Stiles: 1 1/8 inch x 2 1/8 inch.

2.6 FINISH:

A. Surface wood members four side, free of planer skips and saw marks. B. Shutter faces on assemble shutters shall be sanded smooth and flush with sharp exterior edges hand smoothed. Surfaces shall be ready to finish.

2.7 SHUTTER HARDWARE

A. Interior Shutter Hardware: 1. Hinges are powder coated or antique brass or stainless. 2. Magnet plates are to be secored to panel using type#17 point screws. 3. Magnets are to be 25lb pull rated.
