BENCH PROGRAM

The cost of the bench is $650 and includes a commemorative engraved plate and installation.

Benches are dark green, made of expandedmetal and are installed in concrete. Locationfor the benches is determined by the generalvicinity that you are interested in and the needfor a bench in the area.

The commemorative plate is riveted on the topor the front of the bench.

Sponsored by the Northglenn CommunityFoundation, the Memorial Tree and Bench Pro-gram allows groups and individuals to donatetrees and benches to commemorate specialevents or as memorials to loved ones. Examplesinclude births, graduations, anniversary or wed-ding presents.

Planting a tree for a family members or friendsprovides a meaningful and enduring memorialthat can be enjoyed for generations.

Trees and benches purchased through the pro-gram are planted and placed in city parks, trailsand playgrounds.

For either program, a suitable location is determined by mutual interest.

The cost of the tree is $300. This donation cov-ers the tree, an engraved brass plate, the plantingand care of the tree with a re-plant guarantee.

The engraved brass plate with three lines of in-scription is attached to a perpetual plaque out-side city council chambers in city hall. There is awide choice in species of trees and locations.

The Northglenn Community Foundation is aspecial form of public charity, organized to chan-nel tax exempt gifts from individual and corpo-rate donors to a variety of projects in the City ofNorthglenn.

It is a publicly-supported philanthropic institu-tion governed by a local board of private citi-zens. Grass roots projects of interestedindividuals or groups are encouraged, as theywork the best. Tree and memorial benches are anongoing project. The directors can facilitate ac-cess to experts and city staff to assist in projectsthat benefit the city.

We also encourage the acquisition, retention, de-velopment and use of park, open space, recre-ational, cultural and leisure facilities withinNorthglenn.
