Enabling pop-up windows on different browsers

A pop-up window is a small web browser window that appears on the website you're viewing. This window opens for an application to display new information.

This article will guide you on how to enable the pop-up windows on different Internet browsers by disabling the pop-up window blocker.

Managing Pop-Ups in IE

The controls for pop-up blocker are available in the “Internet Options” menu or “Tool Bar” menu, and you have a couple of navigation options.

If Pop-up is blocked in IE, it indicates saying” pop-up blocked “.

Right click on pop-up block message and menu appears. From this menu select the option, “Always allow pop-ups from this site”

The Popup Blocker can also be accessed manually. The procedure is as follows:

Select “Tools” from the menu.

From this menu, select the “Pop-up Blocker” to turn the blocker ON or OFF.

For manually adding the site to the “Allowed List”, the procedure is as follows:

Click on “Pop-up Blocker Settings” in the above screen. This will open the pop-up blocker dialogue window.

In the Textbox below “Address of website to allow:” write “www.sbpdcl.co.in” then click Add button

In the Allowed sites list “www.sbpdcl.co.in” will get added.

From the pop-up blocker settings dialogue window, you can remove allowed sites at any time, and you can decide how lets you know that it has, in fact, stopped a pop-up window. The choices are fairly obvious, and by default any pop-up notifications messages will show in the information bar.

Managing Pop-Ups In Firefox

Select “Tools” from the menu.

With the “Options” dialogue window open, select “Exceptions” next to the line that reads, “Block pop-up windows.”

Type the URL “www.sbpdcl.co.in” to see pop-up.

Manage Pop-ups in Chrome.

If Pop-up is blocked in chrome, it indicates saying” pop-up blocked “.

Click on pop-up block message and menu appears. From this menu select the option, “Always allow pop-ups from sbpdcl.co.in”

The Popup Blocker can also be accessed manually. The procedure is as follows:

Select “Settings” as shown bellow

Click on “Show advanced settings”

Clcik on “Content settings” in privacy section.

Select “Allow all sites to show pop-ups” to allow pop-ups for all websites.

In order to allow pop-up for “www.sbpdcl.co.in” .click “Manage exception”

Add URL “www.sbpdcl.co.in ” under Hostname pattern and keep behavior as “Allow” as shown below.

Manage Pop-ups in Safari

Step 1: Click on Safari on the upper left of your screen to open the drop down options and choose Preferences

Make sure "Block Pop-Up Windows is unchecked as in the image above. Then click Preferences

Step 2: From the menu, choose Security

Step 3: Make sure Block pop-up windows is NOT selected If it is selected, click it to deselect

The Yahoo! Toolbar is available from Yahoo! as part of their service's offerings. The graphic image below is how the bar will appear within Internet Explorer:

The following icon is the Pop-Up Blocker:

To disable Pop-Up Blocking, Click on the Down Arrow to bring up the Menu:

Uncheck the entry Enable Pop-Up Blocker.

The toolbar button changes to indicate that the blocker is disabled

To turn the Pop-Up Blocker back on, you can go back in and recheck the entry to re-enable the Pop-Up Blocker

Google has their own brand of toolbar that is very similar to Yahoo!’s. It offers other features on top of Pop-Up blocking, and looks like the following:

The following icon is the Pop-Up Blocker:

To allow pop-ups to appear, merely click on the icon above. You should now see the following:

To turn the Pop-Up Blocker back on, you can click the icon again to re-enable the pop-up blocker.

Note: In exceptional cases, if this is not sufficient to allow pop-up windows to appear, you may need to disable the Google toolbar completely by following the approach below.

Right-click on the toolbar and a Drop-Down will appear with a listing of all of the Toolbars.

Uncheck the entry Google to disable the Google Toolbar. To re-enable the Google Toolbar, right-click again in the toolbar area and recheck Google

MSN Toolbar is the latest of the toolbars, but is starting to gain popularity. As with Yahoo! and Google toolbars, it allows other features on top of Pop-Up Blocking. Below is the MSN toolbar:

To disable Pop-Up Blocking, Click on the Down arrow to the right of the text to bring up the Menu:

Click on Allow Pop-ups to allow the site to open popups.
