1. SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore the installation and use of the appliance, carefullyread the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is notresponsible for any injuries or damages that are theresult of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep theinstructions in a safe and accessible location for futurereference.
1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children between 3 and 8 years of age and personswith very extensive and complex disabilities shall bekept away unless continuously supervised.
• Children of less than 3 years of age should be keptaway unless continuously supervised.
• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of
it appropriately.• Keep detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when
the door is open.• If the appliance has a child safety device, it should be
activated.• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user
maintenance of the appliance without supervision.
1.2 General Safety• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• Do not exceed the maximum load of 10 kg (refer to the
"Programme chart" chapter).

• The operating water pressure at the water entry pointfrom the outlet connection must be between 0.5 bar(0.05 MPa) and 8 bar (0.8 MPa).
• The ventilation opening in the base must not becovered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.
• The appliance must be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose sets, or other new hosesets supplied by the Authorised Service Centre.
• Old hose sets must not be reused.• If the mains power supply cable is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, its AuthorisedService Centre or similarly qualified persons to avoidan electrical hazard.
• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.
• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steamto clean the appliance.
• Clean the appliance with a moist cloth. Use onlyneutral detergents. Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents or metal objects.
2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS2.1 Installation
The installation must complywith relevant nationalregulations.
• Remove all the packaging and thetransit bolts.
• Keep the transit bolts in a safe place.If the appliance is to be moved in thefuture they must be reattached to lockthe drum to prevent an internaldamage.
• Always take care when moving theappliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.
• Do not install or use a damagedappliance.
• Follow the installation instructionssupplied with the appliance.
• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature can be lessthan 0°C or where it is exposed to theweather.
• The floor area on which the applianceis to be installed must be flat, stable,heat resistant and clean.
• Make sure that there is air circulationbetween the appliance and the floor.
• Do not install the appliance directlyabove a floor drain.
• Adjust the feet to have the necessaryspace between the appliance and theflooring.
• Do not install the appliance where theappliance door cannot be fullyopened.
• Do not put a container to collectpossible water leakage under theappliance. Contact the Authorised

Service Centre to ensure whichaccessories can be used.
2.2 Electrical connection• The appliance must be earthed.• Always use a correctly installed
shockproof socket.• Make sure that the parameters on the
rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.
• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.
• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable need tobe replaced, this must be carried outby our Authorised Service Centre.
• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.
• Do not touch the mains cable or themains plug with wet hands.
• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.
• This appliance complies with theE.E.C. Directives.
2.3 Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water
hoses.• Before connection to new pipes, pipes
not used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), letthe water flow until it is clean andclear.
• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use ofthe appliance.
• Do not use an extension hose if theinlet hose is too short. Contact theservice centre for the replacement ofthe inlet hose.
• You can extend the drain hose tomaximum 400 cm. Contact theservice centre for the other drain hoseand the extension.
2.4 UseWARNING!Risk of injury, electric shock,fire, burns or damage to theappliance.
• This appliance is for household useonly.
• Follow the safety instructions on thedetergent packaging.
• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.
• Make sure that all metal objects areremoved from the laundry.
• Do not wash fabrics which are heavilysoiled with oil, grease or other greasysubstances. It can damage rubberparts of the washing machine.Prewash such fabrics by hand beforeloading them into the washingmachine.
• Do not touch the glass door while aprogramme is in operation. The glasscan get hot.
2.5 Service• To repair the appliance contact an
Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.
2.6 DisposalWARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.
• Disconnect the appliance from themains electrical and water supplies.
• Cut off the mains electrical cableclose to the appliance and dispose ofit.
• Remove the door catch to preventchildren or pets from becomingtrapped in the drum.
• Dispose of the appliance inaccordance with local requirementsfor the disposal of Waste Electricaland Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

3. INSTALLATIONWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.
3.1 Unpacking1. Remove the external film. If necessary,
use a cutter.2. Remove the cardboard top and thepolystyrene packaging materials.
3. Open the door. Remove all the items fromthe drum .
4. Put the front polystyrene packagingelement on the floor under the appliance.Carefully put down the appliance onto its rearside.
5. Remove the polystyrene protection fromthe bottom. Put the appliance back into anupright position.

6. Remove the power supply cable and thedrain hose from the hose holders.It is possible to see water flowing from thedrain hose. This is because the washingmachine has been tested at the factory.

7. Remove the three transit bolts and pull outthe plastic spacers.
8. Put the plastic caps, that you find in theuser manual bag, in the holes.
We recommend that youkeep the packaging andthe transit bolts for anytransport of the appliance.
3.2 Information for installation1. Positioning and levellingCorrectly adjusting the appliance so thatit is level prevents vibration, noise andmovement of the appliance when inoperation.1. Install the appliance on a flat hardfloor. The appliance must be levelled andstable. Make sure that the appliancedoes not touch the wall or other units andthere is air circulation below theappliance.2. Loosen or tighten the feet to adjust thelevel. All feet must rest firmly on the floor.

WARNING!Do not put cardboard, woodor equivalent materialsbelow the appliance feet toadjust the level.
2. The inlet hoseCAUTION!Make sure there is nodamage to hoses and thereare no leaks from thecouplings. Do not use anextension hose if the inlethose is too short. Contactthe service centre for areplacement inlet hose.

2. Position it toward left or rightdepending on the positon of the watertap. Make sure that the inlet hose is notin vertical position.

3. If necessary, loosen the ring nut to setit in the correct position.4. Connect the water inlet hose to thecold water tap with 3/4'' thread.3. Water drainageThe drain hose should stay at a height ofno less than 60 cm and not more than100 cm.
You can extend the drainhose to maximum 400 cm.Contact the authorisedservice centre for the otherdrain hose and theextension.
It is possible to connect the drain hose indifferent ways:1. Make a U shape with the drain hoseand put it around the plastic hose guide.
2. On the edge of a sink - Fasten theguide to the water tap or to the wall.
Make sure that the plasticguide cannot move when theappliance drains and thedrain hose end is notimmersed in the water.There may be a return ofdirty water into theappliance.
3. If the end of the drain hose looks likethis (see the picture), you can push it
directly into the stand pipe.
4. To a stand pipe with vent-hole -Insert the drain hose directly into a drainpipe. Refer to the illustration.
The end of the drain hosemust always be ventilated ,i.e. the inner diameter of thedrain pipe (min. 38 mm -min. 1.5") must be largerthan the external diameter ofthe drain hose.
5.Without the plastic hose guide, to asink spigot- Put the drain hose in thespigot and tighten it with a clamp. Referto the illustration.
Make sure that the drain hose makes aloop to prevent particles going into theappliance from the sink.

6. Position the hose directly to a built-indrain pipe in the room wall and tighten
it with a clamp.

6. DIAL AND BUTTONS6.1 Introduction
The options/functions arenot available with allwashing programmes.Check the compatibilitybetween options/functionsand washing programmes inthe "Programme Chart". Anoption/function can excludeanother one, in this case theappliance doesn't allow youto set incompatible options/functions.
6.2 On/Off Press this button for a few seconds toactivate or deactivate the appliance. Twodifferent tunes sound while switching theappliance on or off.As the Stand-by function automaticallydeactivates the appliance after severalminutes to reduce the energyconsumption, you may need to activatethe appliance again.For more details, refer to Stand-byparagraph in Daily Use chapter.

6.3 Temperature When you select a washing programme,the appliance automatically proposes adefault temperature.Touch this button repeatedly until thedesired temperature value appears onthe display.When the display shows the indicators
, the appliance does not heat thewater.
6.4 Spin When you set a programme, theappliance automatically sets themaximum spin speed allowed, except forprogramme Denim. With this option youcan change the default spin speed.Touch repeatedly this button to:• Decrease the spin speed. The
display shows only the spin speedsavailable for the set programme.
• Additional spin options No Spin.
Set this option to deactivate all spinphases. The appliance performs theonly draining phase of the selectedwashing programme. Set this optionfor very delicate fabrics. The rinsesphase uses more water for somewashing programmes
• Activate the Rinse Hold option.The final spin is not performed. Thewater of the last rinse is not drainedout to prevent the fabrics fromcreasing. The washing programmeends with water in the drum.The display show the indicator .The door stays locked and the drumturns regularly to reduce creasing.You must drain the water to unlockthe door.If you touch the Start/Pause button,the appliance performs the spinningphase and drains the water.
The appliance emptiesthe water outautomatically after 18hours approximately.
• Activate the Night option.
The intermediate and the finalspinning phases are suppressed andthe programme ends with water in thedrum. This helps to reduce creasing.The display shows the indicator .The door stays locked. The drumturns regularly to reduce creasing.You must drain the water to unlockthe door.As the programme is very quiet, it issuitable for use at night time whencheaper electricity tariffs areavailable. In some programmes therinses are performed with more water.If you touch the Start/Pause button, the appliance performs theonly draining phase.
The appliance emptiesthe water outautomatically after 18hours approximately.
6.5 Prewash With this option you can add a prewashphase to a washing programme.The corresponding indicator above thetouch button illuminates.• Use this option to add a pre-wash
phase at 30 °C before the washingphase.This option is recommended forheavily soiled laundry, especially ifcontaining sand, dust, mud and othersolid particles.
The options can increase theprogramme duration.
6.6 Stain Touch this button to add the stain phaseto a programme.The corresponding indicator above thetouch button illuminates.Use this option for laundry with hardstains to remove.When you set this option, put the stainremover into compartment .

6.7 Permanent Extra Rinse With this option you can add a few rinsesaccording to the selected washingprogramme.Use this option for people with allergiesto detergent residues and with sensitiveskin.

The corresponding indicator above thetouch button illuminates and also stayspermanently on during next cycles untilthis option is deactivated.
6.8 Permanent Soft Plus Set this option to optimise the fabricsoftener distribution and improve fabricsoftness.Recommended when you use fabricsoftener.

6.9 Easy IronThe appliance carefully washes andspins the laundry to prevent the creases.The appliance decreases the spin speed,uses more water and adapts theprogramme duration to the type oflaundry.The related indicator comes on.
6.10 Delay Start With this option you can delay the start ofa programme to a more convenient time.
Touch the button repeatedly to set therequired delay. The time increases insteps of 1 hour up to 20 hours.
After touching the Start/Pause button, the display shows the indicator
and the selected delay time and theappliance begins the countdown and thedoor is locked.
6.11 Time Manager With this option you can reduce theprogramme duration depending on theload size and the degree of soiling.When you set a washing programme, thedisplay shows the default duration and
dashes.
Touch Time manager button toreduce the programme durationaccording to your needs. The displayshows the new programme duration anda number of dashes will decreaseaccordingly:

Synthetic sport items. This programme isdesigned to gently wash modern outdoorsportswear and is also suitable for gym, cy‐cling or jogging clothes or similar. This programme can al‐so be used as a water repellency restoring cy‐cle, specifically tailored for treating clotheswith a hydrophobic coating. 1) Standard programmes for the Energy Label consumption values. According to regu‐lation 1061/2010, these programmes are respectively the «Standard 60°C cotton pro‐gramme» and the «Standard 40°C cotton programme». They are the most efficient pro‐grammes in terms of combined energy and water consumption for washing normally soiledcotton laundry.
The water temperature of the washing phase may differ from the temperaturedeclared for the selected programme.

7.2 Woolmark Apparel Care - Blue
The wool wash cycle of this machine hasbeen approved by The Woolmark Compa‐ny for the washing of wool garments label‐led as «hand wash» provided that the gar‐ments are washed according to the instruc‐tions issued by the manufacturer of thiswashing machine. Follow the garment carelabel for drying and other laundry instruc‐tions. M1512The Woolmark symbol is a Certificationmark in many countries.
8. SETTINGS8.1 Acoustic signalsThis appliance has different acousticsignals, that operate when:• You activate the appliance (special
short tune).• You deactivate the appliance (special
short tune).• You touch the buttons (click sound).• You make an invalid selection (3 short
sounds).• The programme is completed
(sequence of sounds for about 2minutes).
• The appliance has a malfunction(sequence of short sounds for about 5minutes).
To deactivate/activate the acousticsignals when the programme iscompleted, touch the and the
buttons simultaneously for about 2seconds. The display shows On/Off
If you deactivate theacoustic signals, theycontinue to operate whenthe appliance has amalfunction.
8.2 Child LockWith this option you can prevent childrenfrom playing with the control panel.• To activate/deactivate this option,
hold down the button until comes on/goes off on the display.
The appliance will default to this optionafter you switch it off.The Child Lock function may not beavailable for a few seconds afterswitching the appliance on.

9. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Make sure that the electrical power is
available and the water tap is open.2. Pour a small quantity of detergent
into the compartment marked by .3. Set and start a programme for cotton
at the highest temperature withoutany laundry in the drum.
This removes all possible dirt from thedrum and the tub.
10. DAILY USEWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.
10.1 Activating the appliance1. Connect the mains plug to the mains
socket.2. Open the water tap.A short tune sounds.
10.2 Loading the laundry1. Open the appliance door.2. Shake the items before you put them
in the appliance.3. Put the laundry in the drum, one item
at a time.Do not put too much laundry in the drum.4. Close the door firmly.

10.3 Filling the detergent and additives
Compartment for prewashphase, soak programme or stainremover.

Always follow the instructions that you find on the packaging of thedetergent products, but we recommend that you do not exceed themaximum indicated level ( ). This quantity will however guarantee thebest washing results.
After a washing cycle, if necessary, remove any detergent residue fromthe detergent dispenser.
10.4 Check the position of thedetergent flap1. Pull out the detergent dispenser until
it stops.
2. Press the lever down to remove thedispenser.
3. To use powder detergent, turn theflap up.
4. To use liquid detergent, turn the flapdown.
With the flap in the position DOWN:• Do not use gelatinous or thick
liquid detergents.• Do not exceed to liquid detergent
dose indicated on the flap.• Do not set the prewash phase.• Do not set the delay start function.
5. Measure out the detergent and thefabric conditioner.

10.9 Interrupting a programmeand changing the optionsWhen the programme is running, youcan change only some options:
1. Touch the button Start/Pause .The related indicator flashes.2. Change the options. The given
information in the display changesaccordingly.
3. Touch the button Start/Pause again.
The washing programme continues.
10.10 Cancelling a runningprogramme1. Press the button On/Off to cancel the
programme and to deactivate theappliance.
2. Press the button On/Off again toactivate the appliance.
If the SensiCare System hascompleted and the waterfilling has already started,the new programme starts without repeating theSensiCare System. Thewater and the detergent arenot drained out in order toavoid waste.
There is also an alternative way ofcancelling:1. Rotate the selector knob to the "Reset"position .2. Wait for 1 second. The display shows
.Now, you can set a new washingprogramme.
10.11 Opening the door -Adding garments
If the temperature and levelof the water in the drum aretoo high and/or the drum isstill rotating you cannot openthe door.
While a programme or the delay startoperates, the appliance door is locked.
1. Touch the button Start/Pause .In the display the related door lockindicator goes off.2. Open the appliance door. If
necessary, add or remove the items.3. Close the door and touch the Start/
Pause button.The programme or the delay startcontinues.
10.12 End of the programmeWhen the programme has finished, theappliance stops automatically. Theacoustic signals operate (if they areactive). The display shows

After five minutes from the end of theprogramme, the energy saving functionautomatically deactivates the appliance.

10.13 Draining water out afterend of cycleIf you have chosen a programme or anoption that does not empty out the waterof the last rinse, the programme iscompleted, but:
• The time area shows and thedisplay shows the door locked .
• The drum still turns at regularintervals to prevent creases in thelaundry.
• The door stays locked.• You must drain the water to open the
door:1. If necessary, touch the Spin button to
decrease the spin speed proposedby the appliance.
2. Press the Start/Pause button:• If you have set Rinse Hold the
appliance drains the water andspins.
• If you have set Night theappliance only drains the water
The option indicator Rinse Hold andNight disappears.3. When the programme is completed
and the door locked indicator goes off, you can open the door.
4. Press the On/Off button for a fewseconds to deactivate the appliance.
10.14 Stand-by optionThe Stand-by function automaticallydeactivates the appliance to reduce theenergy consumption when:• You do not use the appliance for 5
minutes .Press the button On/Off to activatethe appliance again.
• 5 minutes after the end of the washingprogrammePress the On/Off button to activatethe appliance again.The display shows the end of the lastprogramme.Turn the programme dial to set a newcycle.
If the dial is rotated to the "Reset"position , the appliance automaticallyturns off in 30 seconds.
If you set a programme or anoption that ends with waterin the drum, the Stand-byfunction doesn't deactivatethe appliance to remind youto drain the water.
11. HINTS AND TIPSWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.
11.1 The laundry load• Divide the laundry into: white,
coloured, synthetics, delicates andwool.
• Follow the washing instructions on thelaundry care labels.
• Do not wash white and coloured itemstogether.
• Some coloured items can discolourwith the first wash. We recommendthat you wash them separately for thefirst couple of times.
• Button up pillowcases, close zippers,hooks and poppers. Tie up belts.
• Empty pockets and unfold.
• Turn multilayered fabrics, wool anditems with printed illustrations insideout.
• Pre-treat tough stains.• Wash heavy soil stains with a special
detergent.• Be careful with curtains. Remove the
hooks and put the curtains in awashing bag or pillowcase.
• Do not wash laundry without hems orwith cuts.
• Use a washing bag to wash smalland/or delicate items (e.g. underwiredbras, belts, tights, etc. ).
• A very small load can cause balanceproblems with the spin phase leadingto excessive vibration. If this occurs:a. interrupt the programme and
open the door (refer to "DailyUse" chapter);

b. manually redistribute the load sothat the items are spaced evenlyaround the tub;
c. press the Start/Pause button.The spin phase continues.
11.2 Stubborn stainsFor some stains, water and detergent isnot sufficient.We recommend that you pre-treat thesestains before you put the items in theappliance.Special stain removers are available.Use the special stain remover that isapplicable to the type of stain and fabric.
11.3 Detergents and othertreatments• Only use detergents and other
treatments specially made forwashing machines:– powder detergents for all types of
fabric, excluding delicate. Preferpowder detergents containingbleach for whites and laundrysanitization
– liquid detergents, preferably forlow temperature washprogrammes (60 °C max) for alltypes of fabric, or special ones forwoollens only.
• Do not mix different types ofdetergents.
• To help the environment, do not usemore than the recommended quantityof detergent.
• Follow the instructions that you findon packaging of the detergents orother treatments without exceedingthe indicated maximum level ( ).
• Use the recommended detergents forthe type and colour of the fabric, theprogramme temperature and the levelof soil.
11.4 Ecological hints• Set a programme without the prewash
phase to wash laundry with normalsoil.
• Always start a washing programmewith the maximum load of laundryallowed.
• If you pre-treat the stains or use astain remover, set a programme witha low temperature.
• To use the correct quantity ofdetergent, check the water hardnessof your domestic system. Refer to"Water hardness".
11.5 Water hardnessIf the water hardness in your area is highor moderate, we recommend that youuse a water softener for washingmachines. In areas where the waterhardness is soft it is not necessary to usea water softener.To find out the water hardness in yourarea, contact your local water authority.Use the correct quantity of watersoftener. Follow the instructions that youfind on the packaging of the product.
12. CARE AND CLEANINGWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.
12.1 External cleaningClean the appliance with mild soap andwarm water only. Fully dry all thesurfaces.
CAUTION!Do not use alcohol, solventsor chemical products.
CAUTION!Do not clean the metalsurfaces with chlorine-baseddetergent.
12.2 DescalingIf the water hardness in yourarea is high or moderate, werecommend that you use awater descaling product forwashing machines.

Regularly examine the drum to check forlimescale.Regular detergents already contain watersoftening agents, but we recommend torun a cycle with an empty drum and adescaling product occasionally.
Always follow theinstructions that you find onthe packaging of theproduct.
12.3 Maintenance washThe repeated and prolonged use of lowtemperature programmes can causedetergent deposits, fluff residues,bacterial growth inside the drum and thetub. This could generate bad odours andmildew. To eliminate these deposits andclean the inner part of the appliance, runa maintenance wash regularly (at leastonce a month).
Refer to Cleaning the drumchapter.
12.4 Door seal
Regularly examine the seal and removeall objects from the inner part.
12.5 Cleaning the drumRegularly examine the drum to preventrust forming.Clean the drum with special products forstainless steel.
Always follow theinstructions that you find onthe packaging of theproduct.
For a thorough clean:
• Remove all laundry from thedrum.
• Select the Cotton programmewith the highest temperatureAdd a small quantity of powderdetergent into the empty drum, inorder to rinse out any leftresidues.Occasionally, at theend of a cycle thedisplay may show theicon This is arecommendation toperform the “drumcleaning”.
12.6 Cleaning the detergentdispenserTo prevent possible deposits of drieddetergent or clotted fabric softenerand/or formation of mould in thedetergent dispenser drawer, once in awhile carry out the following cleaningprocedure:1. Open the drawer. Press the catch
downwards as indicated in thepicture and pull it out.

2. Remove the top part of the additivecompartment to aid cleaning andflush it out under running warmwater, to remove any traces ofaccumulated detergent. Aftercleaning, put the top part back intoposition.

3. Make sure that all detergent residueis removed from the upper and lowerpart of the recess. Use a small brushto clean the recess.
4. Insert the detergent drawer into theguide rails and close it. Run therinsing programme without anyclothes in the drum.
12.7 Cleaning the drain pumpRegularly check the drain pump filter and make sure that it is clean.Clean the drain pump if:• The appliance does not drain the water.• The drum does not turn.• The appliance makes an unusual noise because of the blockage of the drain pump.• The display shows the alarm code
WARNING!• Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.• Do not remove the filter while the appliance operates.• Do not clean the pump if the water in the appliance is hot. Wait until
the water cools down .• Repeat Step 3 several times by closing and opening the valve until the
water stops flowing out.
Always keep a rag nearby to dry up any water spillages when removing the filter.

If the appliance isoverloaded, removesome items from thedrum and/or hold thedoor shut while touchingthe Start/Pause button until the indicator
stops flashing (seethe picture below).
• - The mains supply is unstable.Wait until the mains supply is stable.
• - No communication betweenelectronic elements of the appliance.Switch it off and switch on again. Theprogramme was not finished properlyor the appliance stopped too early. Ifthe alarm code appears again,contact the Authorised ServiceCentre.

13.2 Possible failures

• Make sure that the couplings of the water hoses aretight and there is not water leakages.
• Make sure that the water inlet hose and the drain hosehave no damages.
• Make sure you use the correct detergent and the correctquantity of it.
You cannot open theappliance door.
• Make sure that a washing programme that ends withwater in tub, has been selected.
• Make sure that the washing programme is finished.• Set the drain or the spin programme if there is water in
the drum.• Make sure that the appliance receives electrical power.• This problem may be caused by a failure of the appli‐

After the check, activate the appliance.
