With Orbit’s Mobile Mapping portfolio, you can load any Mobile Mapping content. The Mobile Mapping Publisher shares this content with users inside and outside your office.

Published content can be password protected, and can include raster and vector data. Publications can be consumed on the web, on mobile devices, in desktop viewers and integrated solutions.

A PublicAtion : Setting uP content for PubliShing

Orbit’s server system comes with a very easy console to setup your content for publishing. Simply bundle a set of Mobile Mapping data (Projects), basemaps (streetmap, aerials, ..) and optionally some vector layers into a Publication. Then setup the access permissions as pleased and push “Publish”. And there’s your web page to share. Timed : 1’20”.

Navigate, Measure and Overlay

The Publisher’s Web Client is a Flex product, which uses the common Flash player. It’s equipped with standard features such asbasemaps choice, show up to 4 panoramas, navigate through the images, make a measurement of point, distance, line, area or volume, embed a geocoding seach engine, overlay vector data and much more.

Measure results are copied to the clipboard. Some setups may allow snapshots to nbe copied as well (protected by security).

A Publication on the web can be configured without login for direct and public access, or with password protection for dedicated projects and customers. Note that when sharing mobile mapping content, privacy laws may be in place.

The Latest release adds the fenomenal full size PoInt Cloud overlay, 2D measurements, smart measurement results such as slopes, support for new hi-resolution 360 camera’s, access multiple projects at the time (e.g. years), on-the-fly CRS conversions, tiled windowing and more.

The free Mobile Mapping Viewer offers exactly the same features as the publication on the web, with a couple of advantages : an image snapshot is now safely copied to the clipboard, and using your login and password you can access all your publications from various providers without a browser.

the ioS PAnoViewer

The PanoViewer App for iPhone and iPad can access Pubications is exactly the same way as the Desktop Mobile Mapping Viewer. Having access to your publications on the road is a major advantage for onsite jobs.

The PanoViewer offers slightly different and simplified features as might be expected from an App.

Measurements can be made for points and distances only if your Publication includes a point cloud. To help you learn, a set of demo projects are just a ‘click’ away.

the PubliSher SDk

The Orbit Mobile Mapping Publisher comes with an SDK provided with API’s for Flex, JavaScript and .Net. This SDK has equal capabilities as the web adn desktop version of the Publisher.

Developers can use these SDK’s to embed rich Mobile Mapping content into each application, solution or workflow.

The Flex API is optimized for deployment in Flex projects, allowing quick and easy reuse of all technology of the Publisher’s own web deployment.

The JavaScript API is ideal for embedding in websites and deploying communication with your own map viewer component, dedicated web-based solutions and more.

The dotNet API is is perfect for plug-ins in any and all windows-based applications, such as your favorite GIS or CAD package, or your corporate workflow solution.

Each API has similar features to the desktop and web versions, with slight differences in relation to the capabilities of the programming language.

The API’s allow to retrieve the measurements and store them as a new feature in your own system.Likewise, add your vector data to be displayed in a 3D overlay on the panoramic image.
