PIC SOUTH KOREA
in 2011/2012 PigTek equipped a farrow to finish grandparent farm with 500 sows for PiC Korea. PigTek supplied all of the following equipment:- feeding systems- Climate and ventilation systems- air cleaning system- farrowing crates- gestation and breeding stalls- nursery pens- manure system
The layout has been designed in cooperation with PiC.
OSTENDORF NORTH GERMANY
mechthild and horst ostendorf operate a family farm with fattening pigs, bull calves and a biogas plant. With the construction of the 750-sow barn, pig production is now carried out in a closed herd system. The new sow facility consists of 2 connected buildings; between the buildings is a very bright 3 meter wide hallway. The size of the new barn is 60 by 60 meters. Due to the square layout, some operation efficiencies have been realized.

harry Koelen manages 5000 sows at several locations in ontario, Canada. in 2011, he built a new farm for 1000 gilts. To meet the increasing demands of animal welfare and because he
likes the group housing benefits of the esf system, he decided to go with mannebeCK® inTeC maC technology. The gilts stay only for the first gestation on this farm. after that,
they are moved to the other locations. These farms will also be converted to inTeC maC, in the coming years.

The straathof family has several pig farms in the netherlands, germany and hungary. PigTek is the main supplier of housing systems for all these farms and for farms like alt Tellin in mecklenburg-vorpommern and gladau in brandenburg.

According to European legislation, all sows need to be kept in group housing systems beginning in 2013. Electronic Sow Feeding (ESF) is one of the most popular systems for group housing in many EU countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain and France.
System INTEC MACThe mannebeCK® esf system works well for family farms as small as 70 sows as well as for large operations housing thousands of sows. especially in renovations, the flexible design of the inTeC maC can be a huge
advantage. The use of the inTeC maC can lead to a significant reduction of feed costs on the farm.
Technology INTEC MACall sows are tagged by an passive transponder (rfiD) and can go into the esf feeding station to be individually fed. feeding is based on one or more feed curves. individual feeding variations are also possible. The mannebeCK® inTeC maC has three different operation modes: one normal mode and two modes for training.
Management INTEC MACimportant management features like training gilts, sorting animals or data backup are supported by the maC software and hardware. operation is comfortable and easy by computer, using the “Pig-maC” software. all animal related inputs can also be done on the nomaD handheld computer using the rfiD reader for identification. Data export is possible as a microsoft excel file or complete data exchange using the iso agrinet interface. With the inTeC maC software, management gets much easier and labor can be reduced.

Due to increased performance levels in piglet production, feeding technology is gaining more and more importance. The lactation potential of the sows should be completely utilized during farrowing. Dispensing small amounts of feed to the sow over several feeding periods throughout the day helps to promote higher feed intake while also helping to avoid the loss of body weight.
Customized feed curves can help to minimize feed costs. avoiding sow weight losses during farrowing saves significantly more feed needed later in gestation to bring the sow back into good body condition.all maC units can be operated by mobile devices, like smart phones, tablets and the milan nomad handheld.
The Rondomat is an automatic, sensor-operated nursery feeder.
unlike standard feeders, the rondomat uses 10 sensors in the feeder’s trough, to detect whether it is full or empty. as soon as the trough is empty, the feeder’s control dispenses feed and water according to the settings made by the farmer. This provides small piglets with immediate access to fresh feed without the need to learn how to operate the agitator. The moisture of the feed can be preset between semi-dry and liquid.
The RondoFlow Feeder automatically lets your piglets eat what they need.

METRA MIXThe meTra miX scale-based phase feeding system is able to mix a ration for each valve. This way the composition of the feed can be adapted to the changing needs of the animal. as a result, the best growth rate and low feed costs can be achieved. Calculation of feed amount and composition is based on age and weight of the animals. inside the room, the valves are operated by two air hoses.

PigTek METRA drive unit is made from stainless steel. This offers long life and excellent feed hygiene. The capacity of the METRA can be adapted to the farm’s requirements.
METRAfeed creates the highest costs in pig production. Therefore smart feed delivery solutions are always welcome. The meTra system will exactly deliver the required amount of feed,
just at the right time. besides a time switch, the new meTra ConTroller includes a maximum run time control, an operation control and the option to add an automatic feed release winch. it is also possible to use one meTra chain as a filling system for one or more feeding system chains. as a standard, the meTra chain is filled by an auger system to allow the meTra system to provide longer feeding system distances.

PORCON® farrowing pen
The PorCon® farrowing pen is specially developed for modern pig farms. The inverted bottom tubes of the stall provide a spacious and comfortable bed for the sow. The piglet guard incorporated into the pen’s design ensures that the sow cannot lay down suddenly. The piglets have enough time to move away from the sow the moment they notice that sow wants to lie down. The design of the PorCon®
farrowing pen makes it possible for the piglets to reach the sow’s udder without obstacles. They can drink the first important colostrum milk from the start.
LAAKE® farrowing pen
The laaKe® farrowing pen with its choice of straight or diagonal configuration is the result of experience and innovative
thinking. The laaKe® farrowing pen is adjustable in length, width and diagonal angle. specially-designed bars
at the side of the pen help to guide the sow in laying down and to allow piglets enough time to move out of the way of the sow. The pen’s design optimally positions the sow for nursing without obstacles while also making it easy for the farmer to reach and care for the sow. The laaKe® farrowing pen is a good solution for the modern pig farm.
PIG FLOOR
non-porous plastic floor is easier to clean! our floor slats are made of injection-molded polypropylene plastic and are non-porous with rounded corners and edges to make them more animal friendly. The weight limit of the sow slat type aKs is 350 kg per slat. These floor pieces interlock to form a nearly flat farrowing floor for your pigs.
