General
Child restraint usageChildren must always use a child restraintsuitable for their age and size whentraveling by car. Start using the boostercushion with backrest when the child istoo big for the child seat.Only use the booster cushion with andwithout backrest for children weighingbetween 33 and 80 lbs (15 and 36 kg) andbetween 38 and 54 inches (97 and 137cm) tall.The backrest is an advantage for smallerchildren as it provides better support for asleeping child and must always be used ifthe car does not have headrests.Volvo recommends that the backrest isalways used with the booster cushion.The booster cushion can be used until thechild reaches a height where a regularseat belt can be used without the boostercushion.After a collisionDuring a collision, the booster cushion,backrest and seat belt are subjectedto high stresses and must therefore bereplaced.

Never position the booster cushion onthe front passenger seat if the vehicleis equipped with an airbag (SRS) onthe passenger side.
Washing instructionsThe booster cushion and backrest woolcovers are removable and can be machinewashed with mild detergent at max. 86°F (30 °C) on a wool cycle. Spin on agentle cycle. Do not tumble dry and do notuse products containing chlorine. Gentlystretch out the cover after washing and letit dryCovers with leather do not need to beremoved for cleaning and must not bemachine washed. Use Volvo's leathercleaner on the leather and textile careproduct on the other cover materials.

1.
– Place the backrest adjustment bar (1)in the cushion’s tension mounting yoke(2).
2.
– Turn the backrest so that the uppercrossmember of the adjustment barengages into the upper part of thetension mounting yoke.
3.
The backrest has two positions:– Upright, with the backrest resting
completely against the rear seatbackrest.
– Sleeping position, where only the upperpart of the backrest's headrest restsagainst the rear seat backrest.

Note!This booster cushion with backrest canonly be used in passenger cars withapproved continuous-loop lap andshoulder belts.The booster cushion withbackrest can be used in all seatingpositions in the rear seat.After installation, check that the boostercushion and the belt are not trapped ordamaged by folding seats, doors, etc.

– Raise or lower the backrest by pressingthe button (1) on the back of thebackrest. There are five fixed positions.

– Position the child and tighten the lapbelt's end under the corner of thebooster cushion.

– Place the lap belt's loose end underthe corner. For larger children, pull theshoulder belt across the corner. Forsmaller children, pull the shoulder beltunder the corner.

– Fasten the belt buckle and pull the seatbelt in the direction of the arrow.

– Ensure that the seat belt is in contactwith the child's body and does not twistor slacken.

– Check that the belt is positionedcorrectly across the shoulder and thelap belt is positioned low for optimumprotection.

– The seat belt must not touch the child'sneck or lie below the shoulder.

– If the shoulder belt touches the neck,then place both the lap and theshoulder belt under the corner. Thengo back to point (7). If the shoulder beltis below the shoulder even though it islocated across the corner, the child hasoutgrown the child restraint.

– When the backrest is used, theshoulder belt must run freely under thebackrest corner.
