The City of Georgetown, Texas offers an experienced Community Services Director an outstanding professional challenge in an ideal location.
The selected candidate:
• Manages, participates in, and initiates the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned programs; recommends appropriate service and staffing levels; recommends and administers policies and procedures.
• Aids in and reviews the development of annual work plans for the Animal Services, Code Enforcement and Emergency Management services; meets with departmental leadership team to identify and resolve problems; assigns work activities, projects and programs.
• Responds to inquiries and concerns from property owners, residents, and businesses as needed and represents the City at various neighborhood associations and civic/social/service organization meetings.
• Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; reviews performance metrics provided by supervisors that demonstrate fulfilment of their missions; assesses and monitors administrative and technology support systems, and internal reporting relationships.
• Reviews statistical reports on operations and activities including performance measurements and attends the Performance Management Program (PMP) reporting meetings; works collaboratively with the PMP Manager in the Human Resources and Organizational Development Department to ensure metrics and other forms are provided in a timely manner in advance of PMP reporting meetings; coordinates with Business Improvement Program (BIP) Manager as necessary.
• Manages and evaluates the Department's annual budget and participates in the annual budget process; forecasts of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; directs and implements adjustments as necessary.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in government, public health,
public administration or related field.
The candidate will also demonstrate 5 years of full-time progressive responsibility
within municipal operations directly or indirectly related to one or more department
service areas. The candidate must have one year of the required experience in a
supervisory or management capacity.
Demonstrate knowledge & skills to include, but not limited to:
• Operational characteristics, services & activities of Community Services
programs; performance management, performance measurement, and project
management practices, skills & concepts.
• Working closely with other City, County, State, and Federal Officials and
employees, City Boards and Commissions and other public and private sector
entities including the general public.
