1. Be sure your cell phone is TURNED OFF!

2. You must wear your name tag.

3. Expect to spend 5‐10 minutes with each employer, but take your cues from the recruiter. Be sure to get the

recruiter’s name and title for use in follow‐up contact. Ask for his/her business card.

4. Many organizations require candidates to submit an online application as part of their selection process. Do not

be discouraged if representatives direct you to their web page for this purpose. It is simply one more step in the

process to secure employment with their organization.

5. If the waiting line to talk to a particular employer is too long, go to another employer and come back later.

6. If you need assistance or have questions, come to the ELCM registration table at the entrance to the MPR and

speak with an ELCM staff member.

7. Follow‐up with employers is extremely important. A thank y ou note should be sent within 48 hours to all

employers with whom you spoke at the Fair. Visit Experiential Learning and Career Management if you need

assistance.

8. WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK! The ELCM office will email a short survey to you in the next few days. Please take

time to complete the survey so that we may bring MU’s students the best possible employment opportunities.

FALL2016 COMPANYDESCRIPTIONS AGAPE CARE Agape Care is a Pennsylvania, state licensed, non‐medical agency providing in‐home care services for Seniors, Veterans, and the disabled, as well as individuals with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Intellectual Disabilities and long term illnesses. We also assist those recovering from operations with the services they need to remain or recover in their own homes. These services often help ease family tensions and fears while providing much needed "respite care" for those who daily serve as caregivers for a family member or loved one. Working at Agape Care is a great opportunity for nursing, special education, and social work majors to get experience in the field and build a resume.

LANCASTER FARMLAND TRUST The Trust works in partnership with landowners to preserve their farms and way of life for future generations by placing a conservation easement on their property. A conservation easement is a legally enforceable land preservation agreement between a landowner and the Trust for the purposes of conservation. OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL The mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is to ensure integrity, accountability and public confidence in Pennsylvania Government by preventing, investigating and eliminating fraud, waste, abuse and misconduct within all agencies under the jurisdiction of the Governor. The OIG’s Bureau of Fraud Prevention and Prosecution (BFPP) is responsible for investigating welfare fraud, and conducting collection activities for programs administered by the Department of Human Services (DHS). These partnerships ensure that only the truly needy receive benefits, and that the integrity of the commonwealth’s public assistance programs are maintained. The OIG takes a two‐pronged approach in the fight against welfare fraud by focusing on its Field Investigation and Fraud Investigation Programs. Field Investigation Program: This program works in conjunction with DHS caseworkers to help ensure that only individuals who are truly eligible for assistance receive benefits; Fraud Investigation Program: This program focuses on individuals who have wrongfully obtained assistance benefits, and ensuring that they are held accountable for their unlawful acts.

PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is responsible for the state adult correction system. The Department’s primary responsibility is the protection of the community, but we also recognize that assistance and opportunities for personal improvement must be provided to offenders in order for them to successfully effect positive changes in their lives. Each institution requires almost all of the services that people in a community require. The Department employs counselors, various medical staff, clerical staff, information technology specialists, teachers, food service personnel, accountants, religious staff, activities specialists, utility plant operators, psychologists, and a variety of tradesmen, including carpenters, masons, painters, electricians, and plumbers.

PENNSYLVANIA LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) manages the sale and regulation of alcoholic beverages in Pennsylvania. To this end, the PLCB is responsible for the retail sale of wines and spirits, the regulation of restaurants and other establishments serving alcohol as well as the education of the public regarding the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. These objectives require the services of professionals in a wide variety of fields including sales, marketing, information technology, human resources, finance and the building and construction trades. As a result, the PLCB is always seeking both working professionals as well as college interns that can help the organization operate effectively and achieve its goals.

FALL2016 COMPANYDESCRIPTIONS ROXBURY TREATMENT CENTER Roxbury Treatment Center is a private 112‐bed sub‐acute detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric center located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains. In our 60‐bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. Our Military Initiative Program opened in June 2010 to treat active military personnel dealing with chemical dependency and mental health issues. UNITED WAY OF YORK COUNTY For over 90 years, United Way of York County has worked in the York County community to improve people’s lives. It began as The York Welfare Federation, an organization that raised funds on behalf of 17 member agencies. Today, as the United Way of York County, the mission of raising community funds remains the same, but the strategies have broadened in order to meet the growing and changing needs of people living in York County.
