MadamlSir, The matter regarding clarification on granting hospital patient care allowance to Group C&D employees is being forwarded to Hq. Office. In this connection, the instruction issued by the ministry of health vide their letter no. Z- 28015/24/200 I-H dated 04/02/04 in which the condition regarding granting of hospital patient care allowance is as under:- The condition which an organization must satisfy before its employees can be considered for grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance. "Only persons (Group C & D, Non-Ministerial employees) whose duties involve continuous and routine contact with patients infected with communicable diseases or those who have to routinely handle, as their primary duty, infected materials instruments and equipments which can spread infection as their primary duty may be considered for grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance. It is further clarified that HPCA shall not be allowed to any of those categories of employees whose contact with patients or exposure t61nfected material is of an occasional nature." In this connection, I am directed to convey the order of Medial Commissioner that the above instruction may consider while granting HPCA to the all concerned. In addition to above the surplus Ambulance Driver and the same are being utilized as staff car driver may be posted on rotational basis so that the every ambulance driver can get HPCA. The matter regarding clarification on granting hospital patient care allowance to GroupC&D employees is being forwarded to Hq. Office.

In this connection, the instruction issued by the ministry of health vide their letter no. Z-28015/24/200 I-H dated 04/02/04 in which the condition regarding granting of hospital patientcare allowance is as under:-

The condition which an organization must satisfy before its employeescan be considered for grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance.

"Only persons (Group C & D, Non-Ministerial employees) whose duties involvecontinuous and routine contact with patients infected with communicable diseases orthose who have to routinely handle, as their primary duty, infected materialsinstruments and equipments which can spread infection as their primary duty may beconsidered for grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance. It is further clarified thatHPCA shall not be allowed to any of those categories of employees whose contact withpatients or exposure t61nfected material is of an occasional nature."

In this connection, I am directed to convey the order of Medial Commissioner that theabove instruction may consider while granting HPCA to the all concerned.
