2. Stay in School – Stay in Society

A CSR umbrella volunteering program drives and promote access to education and employment for youth. Through this program, we will contribute to advancing health, well-being and sustainable development in local communities.

This program gathers local initiaves and addresses children and youth aged between 5-25, strengthens Sanofi’s

community relations around its sites and encourages employees’ volunteering engagement.

Helping children and youth to stay or succeed in school or participate in a tutoring program increases their chances of finding employment, remaining healthy and thus, staying in society. Facilitating access and pursuing education also benefits the whole community by reducing social inequalities.

ITALY GIVE BACK

The first employee volunteering program, for Sanofi Milan HQ. The drive of the initiative is to support the local community,

and raise awareness on how serving people in need is an opportunity to empower each other’s lives, to reinforce our

team-building efforts as well as our spirit of service.

Involving two associations, Nocetum and Fratelli di San Francesco, the volunteering program dedicated 3 days for each

NGO.

Sanofi volunteers visited Nocetum, an association set in the suburbs of Milan. The association manages an old farmstead

in which they host a community of young mothers in need from all nationalities, along with their children.

The program involved 60 Sanofi employees and 30 volunteers participated in the farm activities to support 300 direct

beneficiaries.

III. SKILL-BASED SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS

1. Global Programs

The Corporate Social Responsibility and the Human Resources department have launched in November 2017 a Skills-

based Sponsorship@Sanofi program to connect selected NGOs and start-ups with skilled volunteers for the short-term

placements.

The objective of this program is to provide Sanofi employees with the opportunity to take part in innovation and general

interest projects by sharing their skills, time, and energy to serve economic or social developments and also to develop

their learning agility and innovation thinking in new environments. Participants need to have been with Sanofi for one year

to be able to take part to this program.

Thanks to Sanofi employees’ engagement, skills-based Sponsorship@Sanofi strengthens our commitment to the

economic and social ecosystem by contributing to the development of NGOs, associations, SMEs and startups, partners

of Sanofi and of the Sanofi Espoir Foundation, engaged in the field of health.

The outcomes of the pilot program, available in two French sites, will help us further define our approach for deployment

in France and Internationally.

An internal website was designed to inform the employees in order to discover our proposed missions and the practical

modalities.

2. Local Programs

United States

The Sanofi Genzyme/Dimock Fellowship Program

The Dimock Center, Massachusetts’ largest provider of substance use, mental health, and developmental disability

services within a community health center setting serves 17,000 patients each year, mostly from low-income and

individual families.

In 2017, 6 Sanofi Genzyme employees provided skills-based support, advice, and training to employees at the Dimock

Center in three priority areas: Human Resources, Strategic Planning, and Communications & Marketing.

Our goal is to engage corporations more deeply with The Dimock Center, leveraging their expertise while also giving their

employees the opportunity to more deeply engage with our work in the community,” said Raquel Rosenblatt, Vice

President of Institutional Advancement at the Dimock Center.

Sanofi Genzyme Fellows share a common purpose: to have a long-term, fundamental impact on The Dimock Center’s

growth and success. From the outset, the Program was structured to allow for a deeper commitment than just a one-day,

volunteer.

IV. EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING TO ANSWER MAJOR CRISIS OR

NATURAL DISASTERS

Hurricane Disaster Relief

Sanofi US has an historical commitment helping victims of natural disasters in the US. This fall, during an unprecedented

hurricane season, the three major storms Harvey, Irma and Maria hit Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Puerto Rico over a

period of a few weeks in 2017. Sanofi US helped patients in need and supported its NGO partners in their efforts to

provide emergency relief to affected communities.

Beyond financial support and product donations, Sanofi US employees also gave their time and used their competencies

to support affected communities. They assembled 5,400 hygiene kits during 6 volunteering events gathering 928

employees.

Additionally, one employee went to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks for skill-based sponsorship in order to provide medical care

to people affected by Hurricane Maria

Support for Venezuela

For the past two years, Venezuela has been experiencing a severe political and economic crisis, which intensified at the

beginning of 2017. Enfants de Sanofi, internal association, made a call to support employees’ children and families.

In four Parisian sites, Sanofi volunteers sorted and put into boxes 1 036 Kg of in-kind donations.

Earthquake in Mexico

Sanofi gives an important contribution for the reconstruction through the Trust # FuerzaMéxico

of affected homes and infrastructure in the country, Sanofi delivered a donation $ 1 million to the trust # FuerzaMéxico -

headed by the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), to contribute to the restoration of clinics, hospitals or infrastructure

dedicated to health.

In addition, an immediate donation was made after the disaster of medicines for the affected population, required by the

Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) and vaccines for the prevention of tetanus,

pertussis and diphtheria, mainly directed to brigadistas. These donations were made through the National Chamber of the

Pharmaceutical Industry (CANIFARMA).
