employee spotlight - Bruce Parks 2015

It’s been a while since we’ve done an employee spotlight, and one on this guy is LONG overdue. He’s been with iwerk for seven years, and he embodies everything that iwerk is. He’s friendly, cracks a good joke once in a while, and enjoys a good prank! I have the honor of sitting around the corner from Bruce, and I love hearing him talk with clients on the phone – he is such a nice and caring person, and you can tell he really cares about and enjoys his work!

Let’s get to know Bruce, shall we?1.) How long have you been with iwerk?I have been with Iwerk for almost 7 years in November.. And I still love this place These are my people!!2.) What is the best part about working here?There are so many great things about iwerk. My favorite reasons for being an iwerker in no particular order, Beers with the guys, learning new things, being challenged and learning from it, comparing notes on work related and non work related things, its always great to be able to have your co workers actually be

your friends. I feel like the group really cares about each other.. The often generous nature of the co workers and management is always present. I would say I feel very much @ home because as a second home my job is exciting and fun and feels like family 3.) Favorite iwerk memory?

My favorite memory.. hmmm Alot to choose from but I would have to say Many evenings on the town with the guys.. But the adventure I had with Nintendo in New York and California was awesome to say the least.. long days but fun nights setting up networking, wireless, servers and 50 + wireless gameboys for Nintendo employees to keep scores for the Nintendo World Championships was a blast..

4.) Favorite food?Favorite food would have to be a toss up.. I am very adventurous in the food dept. for sure.. love Mexican and Mediterranean and some fine Sushi too.5.) Favorite beer?My favorite beer type is clearly of the “hoppy” variety An I.P.A or American Pale Ale is always my first choice .. specifically my favorite is Bells two hearted I.P.A if am ordering something while out.. But I am quick to try similar beers that I have not had before so I can see how good they are too.6.) Somewhere you’d really like to travel and why?I have recently began using my vacations to travel the world in the last 2 years.. I have gone to Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Rico and Cozumel . I really enjoy getting in the sun and beach. exploring and seeing new things are a big interest to me. I plan to go to more Caribbean type destinations in the near future. I have a destination wedding to plan for this next year so we will see7.) Best part about working in Royal Oak?The best part of royal oak is being near many different fun restaurants and shops.. I come down on my off time and have dinner and user my parking pass to my advantage from time to time ..
