TheChurchWebelieveintheoneholy,universalchurch,whichismadeupofallbelieversofalltimeintheentireworld,ofwhichChrististhehead.Thevisiblechurch,whichistheBodyofChristinthepresentage,istheordinarymeansofthespreadofgospelandthebuildingupofGod'speopleinChrist.ParticularorlocalchurchesarethevisiblemanifestationsoftheBodyofChristthroughouttheworld,themembersofwhichincludebelieversinChristandtheircovenantchildren.WaterbaptismandtheLord'sSupperaresacramentstobeobservedbytheChurchduringthispresentage,thoughtheyarenottoberegardedasmeansofsalvation.LastThingsWeteachthepersonal,visiblereturnoftheLordJesusChristattheendofthispresentageatwhichtimehewilljudgetheworld.Webelieveinthebodilyresurrectionofthejustandtheunjust,theeverlastingpunishmentofthelostinhell,andtheeverlastingblessednessofthesavedinGod'sNewCreation.

BPCMemberOpportunitiesAny position in the schoolmay be offered to a qualified Bethany Presbyterian Churchmember first. Anyoneoutside of BPC must be a professing Christian and have regular attendance at an evangelical church. TheAdministrativeTeamwillmakethefinaldecisiononallpersonnelmatters.All employeesmust have completed the required child protection screenings (PA Child Abuse Clearance, PACriminalBackgroundCheck,andFBIFingerprinting)andhavetheresultson-filewiththeschool.

MandatedReporterAllschoolemployeesareconsideredmandatedreportersandassucharerequiredtoreportanysuspicionsofchildabuse.Ifyoususpectanyformofabusebecauseofbruises,comments,etc.,areportmustbemadetotheauthorities.PennsylvaniaDepartmentofPublicWelfarehotline:(800)932-0313DevotionsandPrayerTimeEmployees will meet for devotions on Thursday mornings at 8:00 AM in the music room. A schedule fordevotionleaderswillbepostedintheteacher’slounge.Twoadditionalprayertimesareestablishedafterschoolon Tuesdays in the lounge (whole staff) and Wednesdays (grade level groupings). All prayer concerns andrequests shared are confidential. FirstAid• Teachers - Check the medical portal on RenWeb for student health conditions and allergies. Notify
specials teachers andaidesof thehealth conditions andallergiesof your students so they are awarewhenteaching/monitoringthem.
• Assiststudentswithminorachesandcomplaintsintheclassroom(scratch=bandaid,sorethroat=drinkofwater,lightbump=icepack,headache=resthead).
• Pleasesendstudentstotheofficeifastudentbecomesinjured,ill,oryourattemptstocomfortdonotsucceed.Pleasesendanotestatingwhatiswrong.

OfficeStaff~The Office Staff is responsible to support the learning environment and make it possible for education tohappen. Eachmember of the office staff has a specific job as outlined in their job description. Questions,concerns,schoolneeds,etc.,shouldbegiventotheadministrativeassistantorreceptionist.He/shewillforwardtotheproperpersonnelforconsideration.TheadministrativeassistantisresponsibletotheExecutiveDirectorofAdministration;he/shecannotaccommodateallpersonnel requests. OfficepersonnelwillbeevaluatedbytheExecutiveDirectorofAdministration.ClassroomAideResponsibilities~Aide’sresponsibilitieswillinclude,butnotbelimitedtothefollowing:

CustodialStaff~ThecustodialstaffandFacilitiesManagerareresponsibleforkeepingthebuilding/groundscleanandneat.Theyare responsible tomake certain the schoolmeets PAHealthDepartment standards. Theymustwork closelywiththeadministrationandBoardtokeeptheschoolsafeandanenvironmentconducivetohealthylearning.Routinelythereshouldnotbeinteractionwiththestudents,butnottothedegreethatcustodialstaffisunableto complete their job responsibilities. The head of the church trustees and the Executive Director ofAdministrationwillsetprioritiesforthesestaff.TheFacilitiesManager’sperformancewillbeevaluatedbythehead of the church trustees aswell as the Executive Director of Administration. The FacilitiesManagerwillevaluateanypart-timecustodialstaff.FacultyResponsibilities~ClassroomBasics

• Teachers new toBCS should notmake anymajor changes to the curricular resources until they havetaught that grade/subject for at least one year and have received approval from the Director ofEducation.
ClassroomPreparationTeachersatBethanyChristianSchoolwillusethefollowingguidelinestomeasuretheirpreparation:
• K-8teachersshouldarriveby8:00,preschoolteachersshouldarriveby7:45.• Studentswillleavethegymandheadtoclassesbeginningat8:20.• Beinyourclassroombeforethestudentsarriveandgreetingthemastheyenter.• Haveallhandouts,extraequipment(computers,maps,pencils,supplies),andfurniturereadybeforethe

MEDIATIONANDBINDINGARBITRATIONLanguageinemploymentcontracts:I agree to attempt to resolve differences or conflicts by following the Matthew 18 principle, the biblical pattern ofaddressing the conflict in private withmy employer,my administrator, or a coworker, consistent withMatthew 18:15.Should the issue remain unresolved with my employer, I agree to be bound by the following mediation and bindingarbitrationagreementinanattempttoresolvetheseissuesandbringreconciliation.MediationandBindingArbitrationAgreementThepartiestothisagreementareChristians,andtheybelievethattheBiblecommandsthemtomakeeveryefforttoliveatpeaceandtoresolvedisputeswitheachotherinprivateorwithintheChristiancommunityinconformitywiththebiblicalinjunctionsof1Corinthians6:1–8,Matthew5:23–24,andMatthew18:15–20.Therefore,thepartiesagreethatanyclaimordisputearisingoutof,orrelatedto,thisagreementortoanyaspectoftheemploymentrelationship,includingclaimsunderfederal,state,andlocalstatutoryorcommonlaw,thelawofcontract,andthelawoftort,shallbesettledbybiblicallybasedmediation.Ifresolutionofthedisputeandreconciliationdonotresultfrommediation,themattershallthenbesubmittedtoanindependentandobjectivearbitratorforbindingarbitration.Thepartiesagreeforthearbitrationprocesstobeconductedinaccordancewith“RulesofProcedureforChristianConciliation”(“Rules”)containedinthePeacemakerMinistriesbookletGuidelinesforChristianConciliation.Consistentwiththese“Rules,”eachpartytotheagreementshallagreetotheselectionofthearbitrator.Thepartiesagreethatifthereisanimpasseintheselectionofthearbitrator,theInstituteforChristianConciliation(hereafterICC),adivisionofPeacemakerMinistriesofBillings,Montana(406-256-1583),shallbeaskedtoprovidethenameofaqualifiedpersonwhowillserveinthatcapacity.Consistentwiththe“Rules,”thearbitratorshallissueawrittenopinionwithinareasonabletime.Thepartiesacknowledgethattheresolvingofconflictsrequirestimeandfinancialresources.Inanefforttofullyencourageand implementabiblically faithfulprocess,BethanyChristianSchool agrees topayall feesandexpenses,whichmayberequiredbythemediator,caseadministrator,and/orarbitrator,relatedtosuchproceeding.Theissueoffinalresponsibilityforsuchcostswillbeanagreedissueforconsiderationordeterminationinthemediationorarbitration.Thepartiesagreethat they will endeavor to exchange information with each other and present the same at any mediation, or, if toarbitrationpursuanttothe ICCRulesofProcedure,withthe intent tominimizecostsanddelaystotheparties.Theywillseektocooperatewitheachotherandmayrequestthemediator,caseadministrator,and/orarbitratortodirectandguidethepreparationprocesssoastoreasonablylimittheamountoffact-finding,investigation,anddiscoverybythepartiestothatwhich is reasonably necessary for the parties to understand each other’s issues and positions, and to prepare thematterforsubmissiontothemediatorand/orarbitratortoinformthemediatorand/orarbitrator.Inaddition,thepartiesagreethat intheeventofarbitration,theywilluseasinglearbitratorwhoisexperiencedintherelevantareaof lawandfamiliarwithbiblicalprinciplesofresolvingconflict.Thepartiestothiscontractagreethatthesemethodsshallbethesoleremedyforanycontroversyorclaimarisingoutoftheemploymentrelationshiporthisagreementandexpresslywaivetheirrighttofilea lawsuitagainsteachother inanycivilcourtforsuchdisputes,includinganyclassactionproceeding,excepttoenforcealegallybindingarbitrationdecision.Thepartiesacknowledgethatbywaivingtheirlegalrightstofilealawsuittoresolveanydisputebetweenthem,theyarenotwaivingtheirrighttoemploylegalcounselattheirownexpensetoassisttheminanyphaseoftheprocess.
