School; Affiliated to Bombay University from 1866 for LCE.• BE Degree program in Civi Engineering started in 1908• Affiliation Changed from Bombay to Pune University in 1949• First PG Course started in 1957 (IIT Kgp started in 1951)• There were 9 UG programmes, 18 PG programmes and PhD
programme in all engineering disciplines• No of students who have passed out• Undergraduates - 36000• Post Graduates - 7500• Doctorates - 45• First PhD in Electronics and Telecom Engineering 1958

Special RBI Loan SchemeKey concept – Burden on the Beneficiary
• Education loan would be available to all the students selected by the college at Rs 1 lakh per annum
• Loan amount would be transferred directly to college.• The responsibility for repayment will rest on the students
themselves. Recovery
• Students will pay back this money 2-3 years after graduation and settling down at simple interest
• Educational Institutions would ensure that there are no defaults by keeping continuous and frequent track of the movements of its graduates after their graduation.
