Find a job that changes your career plan or fit your skills best!

You match what you catch… is that really finding a job? New project called EMLT, is prepared just for finding

the real answer for this question. EMLT Project is a digital learning management system that aims to destroy

educatıon job mismatch. EMLT, led by Anadolu University and also supported by EU and Turkısh National

Agency, serves people a good career map.

Educatıon job mismatch is one of the most important issues while talking about educated unemployment.

Let’s have a look at the following questions to understand the whole story;

• Reasons of unemployment?

• Reasons that cause us working at the job that doesn’t fit our skills?

Generally, a directly proportional relationship is expected between the education level and the economic

development. Does it mean when the number of educated people increases, unemployment level may

decrease? In fact, the main reason is not only the level of education but also the alternative investments that

make the unemployment rate decrease. That is what we experience nowadays. Young

people are highly educated but because of the mismatch they are unhappy!

Unemployment is a big problem not just for young people; it also badly

affects the living standards of all people. Besides that, especially new

candidates looking for a suitable job for a long time are getting more

and more discouraged unless the economics can find a solutıon.

Young people who are seeking for o job choose an

improper one which doesn’t fit their skills just to quit

the responsibilities they have to their families.

The expectations make unemployed people

agree with the idea “you match what you

catch”. Moreover, new candidates

also feel them as if they have

to make quick decision on

their occupation putting

their all skills and

dreams away.

All things we

mentioned above are

called Education – Job

Mismatch which creates

lots of unhappily employed or

unemployed people at all. Some

says that their skills are more than the job

requires.[1]

According to the research made by TUİK in 2015,

among 18-24 aged people only %3,7 of them were

happy with their job. When it comes to all ages the rates are

decreasing year by year. İn 2004 rate of people describing their

job as the happiness factor was %4,3 and in 2014 it was %2,2. [2]

The gap between education-job is incredibly getting higher day by day.

Education-job mismatch results in inefficient working conditions. Education-job

mismatch results in inefficient working conditions. In 2013, people who have bachelor’s

degree and unemployed were 557 thousands in Turkey. %14 of them worked in a temporary job so unemployed

then, nearly %10 of them were fired, %4 of them unemployed because of bankruptcy and finally %21 of them

were unemployed because of resigning.[3]

As a result of this Project, the young will be able to decrease the mismatch level by using both national and

international distanced e-learning materials. This will be the result of a big study of all partners both national

and international. Both public and private sector are the partners in the project so any suggestions or different

point of views will strengthen the communication between the job and the educatıon.

This is a real adventure! This bulletin aims to tell you all the details of the adventure and also have the

feedback coming from you to make things better.

Please don’t hesitate to share your opinions with us!

Keep in touch and wait for the next!
