Michigan Field Experiences Spring 2015 MSU Pre-College Writing
Course Co-taught a PCW course consisting of mostly international
students. Led full class lessons on revision, arrangement, and
audience. Worked with MSU WRAC faculty to plan lessons. Feedback
experience by mirror grading papers. Fall 2014 Haslett High School,
Haslett, MI Observation of a 12th grade AP English course with
active participation in a 12th grade ELA planning period. Reviewing
and reconstructing future units as well as creating an
instructional video for a 12th grade ELA ePortfolio project.
(4hrs/week) Summer 2014 MacDonald Middle School/East Lansing High
School East Lansing, MI Intensive instruction and observation in
ESL classrooms. Leading vocabulary reviews and tutoring ELLs in
various subject areas. (5hrs/week) Spring 2014 Lansing Eastern High
School, Lansing, MI Tutoring small groups of ELL students with
little to no English proficiency. Working with students on ACT test
prep as well as facilitating grammar lessons and review.

Practiced classroom management skills while
monitoring student-student and student-teacher interaction

Teaching Related Work Experience 2011-2013 Wharton Center Student
Marketing Organization Executive board member in this student
organization with the mission of educating the MSU student body
about the Wharton Center with specific outreach and alignment with
multicultural organizations and special interest groups. 2010/2011
After School Tutoring and Meals-to-Go Program Partnering with local
elementary school teachers to create and organize a program for
high-schoolers to tutor students grades 1-5 in addition to being
the Meals-to-Go liaison between the local Key Club and meal program
for students. Work Experience 2012-Present Wharton Center for
Performing Arts Usher and usher supervisor. Effective and timely
communication with patrons and house management staff. Mastery of
emergency procedures and leadership of an usher team. 2011/2012
Hastings Mutual Insurance Company (Summers) Marketing
Intern/Commercial Underwriting Clerk. Responsible for obtaining and
organizing confidential information. Communication with out of
state agents in addition to a time sensitive task-oriented
agenda.
