Tournament Update Our next tournament will be on 19 May. The Individual Modified Stableford Tournament is an individual event, which means that you must have an verifiable handicap index in order to play. That is a member responsibility. The sign-up sheet is in the Senior Locker Room at the EGC. Also, you can sign up using the EMGA web site. Our championship tournament is the Kregel, which is in August, requires that members play in at least five EMGA events. These include OP/OPC and Match Play, which counts as only one event. Home & Away We played the Home end of the Home and Away with Pueblo Country Club on Tuesday and came out an 11 to 7 winner for bragging rights. EMGA winners included the first place team of Bill King and Floyd Smith with a best net ball score of 66. They won in a scorecard playoff with a team from Pueblo Country Club and got $60 in pro-shop credit to split between them. The team of Larry Arkfeld and Fred Steffers came in third with a score of 67 and got a prize of $20 in pro-shop credit. Skins went to Don Brown, Floyd Smith, and Fred Steffers. The skins were worth $17 each. A special thanks goes out to Marty Bunker and Bill King for filling in with the player check-in. They stepped up when I got delayed in my arrival at the course. We played the Away end of the Home and Away with Pueblo CC yesterday. They won the day at their course 11.5 to 6.5 in bragging rights points. The EMGA winners included the team of Tom Baltuskonis and John Horsman who got third place with a best net ball score of 64. This won them $20 in pro-shop credit to split. Pueblo Country Club teams win the first two places. Skins were as follows: Of the 9 skins, EMGA members won 7, including one net skin to Marty Bunker #2 and six gross skins that went to Fred Steffers on #6; Larry Arkfeld on holes #7 and #18; John Horsman on #5; and Mike Trivette on holes #12 and #15. Skins were worth $13 each. Pueblo Country Club won the overall Home and Away match with 18.5 points to 17.5 for the EMGA team. Congratulations Pueblo Country Club for a great comeback. We will be playing the Home end of our Home and Away with Red Rocks Country Club next Monday, 16 May 2016. We will wear white shirts and show up at 7:00 for an 8:00 shotgun start. EMGA leads the bragging rights with points total 14.5 to 3.5 after the Away end of the event. We will be fielding 16 players in our Home and Away match with Colorado Springs Country Club, playing away on Thursday, 26 May 2016 and at home on Tuesday, 31 May. We have 16 players identified, but can use some alternates. We’ve already heard a player or two may not be able to play. We have used at least three alternates in each of our two previous Home and Away events. If you would like to be put on the waiting list for the Colorado Springs Country Club Home and Away, please send a note to [email protected] and be sure to list the event you would like to be c. This is the first call for players for the Country Club of Colorado Home and Away event. We will play at home on Tuesday, 7 June 2016 and away on Wednesday, 8 June 2016. As always, the team will be chosen from those who ask to be included in the list. John "Tuck" Tucker ([email protected]) EMGA Home and Away Coordinator

EMGA Junior Golf Support As in past years the EMGA has provided support to the Eisenhower Golf Course Junior Golf Program by providing member volunteers to help with sign in and other duties to support the kids. This year is no exception as we are soliciting volunteers to help man the sign in tables 6 to 10 June for the first camp and the from 20 June through 24 June for the second camp. We need two folks each day from 845 to 1100. You can volunteer for just one day or more if you can. The duties are mainly support in getting the kids around to the putting, chipping, and driving venues as well as helping with sign ins each day. There is no previous experience necessary; just be there to provide support to the staff and the kids. Please respond to me, Marty Bunker, [email protected], 719 339-1211, if you are interested in giving back to the game of golf and especially to the kids. Our EMGA support to Junior Golf is a positive credential for us, but more importantly, by our example, we show to the future generations our lifelong enjoyment and commitment to the game of golf. Marty Bunder ([email protected])

OPC Volunteers Needed What a great way to meet your fellow EMGA members, and help the organization as well. You will be responsible to collect and keep track the OPC money from the players. The early shift needs be at the course by 7:20 for the first tee time at 7:30, and gets a tee time around 8:45 or so, and the late shift starts around 8:30 will be the last group off. Below is the OPC schedule with the openings. Many of you expressed an interest this morning during our FIRST OPC day of the 2016. Now is your chance to sign up.
