Our History
Rosemount Engineering Company was founded in 1956 as a supplier of precision products for the aerospace industry. The company quickly grew with the success and expansion of the U.S. space program and continued to apply the same rigid standards that aided NASA’s success to the development of breakthrough products for the process industries.
In 1976, Emerson acquired Rosemount and set in motion a plan to build the world’s largest instrumentation and control system company through internal research and development efforts and strategic acquisitions. Rosemount technologies became a cornerstone of this strategy. Today, Rosemount expertise and best-in-class technologies from Emerson Process Management play a key role in Emerson’s combining of superior products and technology with industry-specific engineering, consulting, project management and maintenance services.

Emerson’s Rosemount brand is synonymous with reliability and dependability which has
resulted in more than 8 million units installed worldwide. R o s e m o u n t p r e s s u r e instrumentation includes the world’s f ir st scalable measurement architecture. It
incorporates all the functionality of a complete pressure transmitter but allows the customer to scale up from basic process measurement to advanced PlantWeb® capabilities.
Emerson has also taken Rosemount pressure transmitter technologies and customized them to meet the needs of specialized oil and gas, pharmaceutical, food & beverage and critical HVAC system applications. Our transmitters are available with flanges, manifolds, diaphragm seals and primary elements in a single installation-ready solution for pressure, level and flow applications.
Differential Pressure Flow
Rosemount DP Flow products combine primary element innovations with best practices in selection and installation to
achieve better measurements. Rosemount primary elements also ensure much greater performance and reliability. Flowmeters arrive leak-tested, calibrated and ready-to-install, reducing both installation time and total costs while enhancing environmental compliance.
Temperature
Emerson provides a broad array of Rosemount temperature solutions for industrial monitoring,
critical control and safety applications. Our smart temperature
transmitters can eliminate detrimental sensor errors and communicate critical data with temperature diagnostics, including PlantWeb alerts.

Magnetic & Vortex Flow
Rosemount magnetic and vortex flowmeters incorporate the most comprehensive
line of technologies for achieving better measurement practices across all applications. Our patented diagnostics include grounding and wiring fault, high-process noise, electrode signal fault, low signal-to-noise
and empty pipe, helping customers accelerate start-up and maximize uptime.
Level
Rosemount radar level transmitters include contacting and non-contacting, high and low
frequency plus a large number of antenna t ypes. They are extremely reliable and provide accurate level measurement to increase uptime even in the toughest conditions.
Rosemount DP Level products are unsurpassed in breadth,
capability and performance. Our advanced technology includes robust seal construction with back-up diaphragms to protect seal integrity, recessed diaphragms to reduce handling damage and advanced weld techniques to improve reliability.
