Emergent Curriculum & Documentation
Creative thinking in Emergent Curriculum
By examining projects that use teachers’ creative
responses to children’s ideas, we will explore how
emergent curriculum differs from more
‘prescriptive’ approaches. Participants will have
an opportunity to discuss their responses to the
projects, and how this approach might work in
their own settings. 1.5 PD HOURS
Documentation as a tool for Communication
We will think together about what we want our
documentation to communicate, see examples of
various forms of documentation, and practice how
to produce professional written and visual
communication. 1.5 PD HOURS
Susan Stacey
Susan is an educator and consultant
who has worked with both seasoned
and student teachers over the past
30 years, as a college instructor,
director, classroom teacher, and
practicum supervisor. Susan’s
particular interests lie in Emergent
Curriculum, documentation, literacy,
and reflective practice.
Presently, Susan is the Primary
Coordinator for Halifax Grammar
School, and has just published her
second book “Unscripted: Emergent
Curriculum in Action”.
