This certificate program provides a solid foundation in safety for Safety Officers, Assistant Safety Officers, and other positions in an incident command structure. This program is intended to augment training taken through FEMA in order to provide skills and knowledge necessary to ensure the safety of workers participating in all phases of an incident response.

IS-100.b, IS-200.b, and IS-700.a must be completed through: https://training.fema.gov/is/crslist.aspx prior to
enrolling in the final Emergency Safety Officer Training. Note: FEMA courses can be taken online.
In addition to four required courses, certificate program participants must complete three elective
courses of their choosing.
