Emergency Escape Breathing Device
In emergency situations, conditions can deteriorate rapidly. The air is suddenly lled with smoke or toxic fumes and rapid escape is the only available option. The NEAR guard was designed to be suitable even for people with spectacles or facial hair. When opened, the Near guard is automatically activated and begins feeding a continuous supply of breathing air. The NEAR guard gives the wearer the precious additional time needed to exit the area safety.
The NEAR guard utilizes a simple, fail-safe reducer system with excellent ow characteristics, providing a consistent rate of air ow until the cylinder is completely empty. An alarm whistle sounds before the air supply is exhausted. NEAR guard equipped with 3lt aluminium cylinder can hold 15 minute supply of air. The ame reterdant hood incorporates a large visor for maximum peripheral vision.
The NEAR guard hood's elastic neck seal, resistance to the effects of high temperatures, ozone and diesel fumes, which are often found in places such as engine rooms. This translates to year of reliable, worry-free service even under adverse conditions.

Low Maintenance
The NE&AR guard Emergency Escape Breathing Device allows safe, effective escape from hazardous environments. Simple to put on and featuring practically automatic operation, this hood-based, positive pressure breathing device can be used with minimal training.
The NEAR guard requires very little service and maintenance. A transparent window lets you check the cylinder pressure gauge easily without unpacking the unit.

Technical Description
The escape breathing apparatus NEAR guard is a compressed air breathing apparatus to be used for emergency escape from irrespirable atmospheres. It has been designed in accordance with EN 1146 to demonstrate compliance with safety requirements of EC directive 89/686/EEC. It is a lightweight apparatus that is simple to use and gives a consistent ow of breathable air. The NEAR guard has duration of minimum 15 minutes. This is the duration required by IMO. In the apparatus a fast positive method of operation permits air to pass from the compressed cylinder into a exible hood which can be slipped over the head in a fast maneuver without any complication.

D-Regulator / Cylinder Valve
The Regulator is mounted on the cylinder. The regulator has a quick start function. By pulling the Start Pin (bag cover) valve is opened in one movement. When the start pin is drawn the airow starts. From the outlet of the regulator, a exible hose leads the ow of air into the hood. The airow minimize CO2 built up however the hood must be removed as soon as the clearance of the hazard area. A constant reading pressure gauges is tted to the regulator, providing a continuous indication of the cylinder pressure. For protect to manometer the regulator pressure gauge connection air ow to be reduced a maximum of 15L/min. Warning device (whistle) tted to the regulator, when the tube pressure fall about 10 bar, whistle sounds continuously. Filling adaptor through EN 144-2 G 5/8”.

E-Hood
The hood assembly consist of a bright yellow hood, the inner mask, the air supply hose and the exhalation valve. When the NEAR guard is operated, the hood is lled with air and provides a reservoir of air. When the user inhalation, air goes from the hood to the inner mask and will be inhaled. Air supply connection is in the inner mask. When exhalation, supplied air is prevent to mixing/leaking exhalation air to reservoir air. Exhalation goes through an exhalation valve from the inner mask to the ambient atmosphere. This prevent the building up of high levels of carbon dioxide. The non-misting vizor is designed for maximum eld of vision during escape. The inner harness provides automatic and easily adjustment for the inner mask. The harness design guides the mask onto the user’s face and assumes the correct position. The neck seal accommodates a wide range of ts and needs no adjustments after donning.

The cylinder and the hood are carried in the bag
The yellow colored bag is made of ame reterdant strong PVC material and has a quick opening through Velcro strips
Anti-static property is provided with conductive carbon paint on the bag outer surface. The pressure gauge is readable through the transparent window. This allows the users to check the pressure gauge without opening the bag
The duration time for the apparatus, approvals and pictorial user instructions are briey printed on the bag
When pulling bag cover, the start pin activates, the airow starts and the bag opens so the hood can be taken and be pulled over the head
The neck belt made of synthetic ber allows the users to wear and carry the apparatus easily
