What is Emergency Cart?

• Locked carts located in designated clinical areas in the hospitals consisting of drugs,supplies and equipments.

Emergency cart has 7 drawers:1st: Drugs or medications2nd to 6TH : Supplies7TH : IV FluidsTotal of 3 medication trays under the management of pharmacy.

What is used to lock the e-cart?• Plastic numbered lock with code.

CODE 99 COMMITTEE

• Establish standardize controlled system for maintenance and use of e-cart within the hospital.

• This committee has the authority to add or remove drugs,supplies and equipments inside the e-cart.

Who maintains and monitor the e-cart?

• Hospital Pharmacy• Central Sterile Supply (CSS)

WHO CAN ACCESS THE E-CART?• Doctors• Nurses• Pharmacists• CSS Staff

WHEN TO OPEN E-cart?

• Life threatening situation• E-cart replenish• E-cart inspection• Pull out of nearly expiring items

How long is the time permitted to replenish e-cart?30 MINUTES.

• Code Sheet• E-cart Lock• Transaction Slip• E-cart
