Chapter 3Advanced Document TransformationServices System Requirements

This chapter lists the hardware requirements and software versions supported with this release forAdvanced Document Transformation Services (ADTS).

Note: An EMC product configuration running on a particular environment is supported as long asversions of the components in the environment (for example, operating system, database, webserver, browser, SSO, Directory Servers, and so on) are in standard/primary support by theirvendors.

Software requirements are listed with release numbers. Software updatesincludingpatches, Service Packs, and equivalent updatessometimes introduce unanticipated changes.Compatibility with software updates that are not listed here cannot be guaranteed.

Hardware RequirementsThis section lists nominal machine resources required for product installation and use.

The networking protocol is TCP/IP, using the TCP/IP stack included with Windows.

The database can be either a local or remote installation. The database can be installed on anyoperating system supported by the database vendor, provided the database client can be installedon the Content Server host. For example, Content Server can be installed on a Windows host anduse a database installed on a Solaris host. When the database is installed remotely, verify thatyou can connect to the database by using a database client from the system where you intend toinstall Content Server.

A private copy of JBoss web application server is installed. This web application server is requiredfor LDAP user synchronization, Java Lifecycles, and the ACS server.

Microsoft Windows is required for the GUI installer on UNIX operating systems.

Supports Microsoft Cluster. The Installation Guide contains more details.

The data partitioning feature of Documentum Archive only supports Oracle and SQL Serverdatabase.

Content Server does not support Oracle instant client.

English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese versions of the operating system are supported.

Supports Kerberos V5 1.6.3.

Supports VMware vSphere vCenter Server Version 4.0.0 Build 162856, ESX 4.0.0 Build 164009and Atmos versions.
