Cleavage – in the uterine tube
3. day
8. day
The 10-day embryo is completely embedded in the endometrium.
Development of notochordal process and notochord
1.The cells of the primitive node proliferate between ectoderm and endoderm in the midline
of the embryonic disc and form notochordal process until it reaches prechordal plate.
2.Notochordal process soon acquires a lumen and become notochordal canaliculus.
3.Ventral wall disapears – connection between amniotic cavity and yolk sac through canalis
neurentericus.
4.The dorsal wall forms a compact cord – notochord situated berween primitive node and
oropharyngeal plate (prochordal plate) in tha midline of mesoderm of embryonic disc.
Notochord induces the overlying ectoderm to form neural plate-primordium of the CNS.
