INTRODUCTION TO EMBEDDED

Embedded technology is software or hardware that is implanted in a large device or

system for a dedicated application. It classically refers to a fixed function device, as compared

with a PC, which runs general-purpose applications.

As the scope and roles of embedded systems are escalating, the estimated usage of embedded

programmable components is extremely high. Exponentially increasing computing power and

the convergence of technology have resulted in hardware/software systems being embedded

within everyday products and places.

Embedded Technology can be implemented in Consumer Applications, Office & Industrial

Automation, Medical Electronics, Computer Networking, Telecommunication, Wireless

Technologies, Instrumentation, Safety and Security Applications.

Embedded system can be preferred for following reasons
